Yeah this officiating on a global stage just proves the NHL wanted New Jersey to win on a global stage and who better to put against them then the lowely Sabres.

E: On replay, you can clearly see the puck in the net to the side behind the goalie’s pad.

He doesn’t have anyone to put there. Mitts is in Colorado. Ostlund and Helenius are starting their AHL careers. Cap space can’t dress on gameday

Good on the refs for clamping down on those dirty Sabres and keeping the game under control, right?

The officiating is just bog-standard good team vs. bad team weighted. It's not a fix as much as it just how the league has a long history of that sort of conditional officiating.
