Morgan Rielly

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Perhaps an over-simplification, if Rielly is pulling 225lbs, I think he would benefit from dropping about 10lbs.

It’s not like he’s using the extra weight to exert himself physically on opponents, and it should help with his skating and speed.

I think weight loss and conditioning, along with increased familiarity with a good new partner in Carlo could result in a significant improvement in Rielly’s play moving forward.

In the 1920s they would have abducted him and thrown him in a sweat box for a week. Then told him to start playing better or else Rocko is gonna give it to you good and if that does not work you are gonna wear cement shoes.

Imagine how cringe-worthy this team's defense would have been this season without Tanev.

The top five is good (assuming Rielly raises his level of play), but without Tanev, there would have been more pressure on Morgan and he would have had an even worse season. They might not have been in a position to buy and might not have added Carlo.

Tanev is one of the most important players on this team. I pray he stays healthy.

100%, if he's not gonna be physical all he's doing is slowing himself down...it's idiotic.

Morgan is too heavy, his game doesn't justify the playing weight due to his lack of physicality and ability to even win a one on one battle, he's weak, slow and has problems processing the game on the most basic level. He's basically out of shape and daydreaming out there.

I'm done with this methhead, I say methhead as this can be the only logical reason for an NHL defenceman making 7 bills to play like this. He has clearly become an addict and is just in a haze all game every game.

This guy is in such a hole... bad positioning, bad decisions, low compete. Like, he is bringing zero to the table right now and as I see it is actually hurting the team.

I love Mo. But he is trash right now. Probably needs to sit on Tuesday. See how it goes and maybe extend that a game or two. Will never happen with this soft coaching and management team.

Running him back out there is doing no good for the team or player.

It's getting to the point with this guy now where he cannot be relied upon as a defenseman. And this is why it is imperative that this summer, Treliving and Shanahan (assuming that he's still here) need to have a sit-down with him and basically say:

"Morgan. You have 2 choices. We can either try you out as a forward next season or we are going to be releasing you".

These are the only two viable options left when it comes to this guy IMO.

Why has there been zero accountability?

Is being 20 pounds overweight as a professional athlete not a breach of contract ?
Hes always been one of the heavier players on the team

I loved Mo and have generally defended him but he's been horrible this year. I am hoping it is a one year blip and he rebounds or at least has a strong playoff showing but who knows. I also don't think Berube's system plays to his strengths but that's a different discussion.
