Similar play? are you on crack?

Are you saying this is worse? I could get onboard with that. With Scheifele you could atleast say he was trying to make a hockey play trying to hit a guy before he scored. Here buddy makes a beeline to Greig after he scores and the play is dead and just straight up cross checks him in the face lol

Totally, if someone's feelings are hurt it absolutely justifies physical violence.
Not that I want players to get hurt, but taking everything away in terms of physicality, anger and fire is what makes today's NHL so much worse than 20-30 years ago. Everything something happens like this and gets the players and fans fired up, the NHL and others feel the need to stamp it out ASAP.

I get that the NHL doesn't want another Todd Bertuzzi kind of incident, but man its killing hockey when they try so hard to take all the passion and fire out of it.

Obviously he should get completely and utterly f***ed by the league, that's much worse than the Mark Scheifele thing and they gave him four games in the playoffs. What was the exchange rate supposed to be, 3 or 4 regular season games for a playoff game?

But this isn't even limited to the ex-goon they have in DPS because the video reviews are as bad - if you let some NHL guy look at a play on video for a long time, and there's any discretion involved at all, he's as often as not going to come up with some bizarre shit.

Scheifele got 4 playoff games for a similar play. Curious to see if the league would hold a Leaf to the same standard.

I wonder if the fact that it didn't take place during the play will factor in. There is no ambiguity about it. Almost like how coming off the bench for a fight is such a serious thing. It's one thing to cross check someone during a play, or even in a scrum that is already ongoing.

Doing it from behind after the whistle is indefensible from a player safety POV. If they don't go after him and set a precedent, it opens up similar situations with the loose justification being that the player is upset about how a goal was scored or hot doggo g.

What Greig did was hilarious.

What Morgan did was bush league, uncalled for, not a hockey play, psycho, wreckless, dangerous, stupid, dumb, sore loserish, immature, ridiculous, egregious, near-criminal, classless, a joke, typical, pumpkin-headed, and perjative slurred.

Not a comparison you want to make when Edmonton's stars have put up historic runs in the post-season. Matched Matthews + Marner's entire playoff resume in a single run lol.
Historic runs that won them the same number of cups.
CBC should be no longer a thing in the NHL.

It should be outlawed to have announcers from Toronto. So biased.

Reilly getting 3 games. Bookmark this
You understand we had Jim Hughson and Craig Simpson calling our games forever right?

IMO there's nothing unethical about taking a clapper with nobody in the way of an empty net. Maybe if Rielly was defending, but the play was dead. If he wanted to start a scrub and let Grieg off with some chirps then sure why not. That's a salty, dirty play at the end of the day, and I don't think there should be much of a debate on that.

It’s gotta be frustrating getting owned by the Sens. Especially when the chirped player hammers a slapper into the empty net.

4-5 games for Rielly

Shades of Dale Hunter of P. Turgeon. Ok maybe not quite the same lol

Was that cross check to the head for the empty netter and if so why? I never played hockey so I'm not really getting this.
