Why didn’t Morgan’s team just win? Could have avoided this.

Well can't win them all especially if you're the Leafs. Greig didn't have to rub it in with a slapshot empty net goal and not expect that something might happen even from this soft Leafs team.

Obviously it would've been better not to crosscheck him in the head and perhaps get him in the body and give him a few punches, but if it were a Leafs player firing a slapper into an empty Sens net I don't think anyone would be surprised if a Sens player reacted in a similar manner.
