Player Discussion Morgan Geekie

I was thinking 18 mil 4 years, but they have to make a big decision. I have always liked the player, but did not see this coming. Lindholm is not a first line center, and I do not believe after couple of games together it changes.
Lindholm is smart and plays 200 feet and as Brickley says doesn’t do fly-bys and goes to net

Watch the video of Lindholm goal first period against Carolina and see how happy Pastrnak was

Lindholm is a perfect guy for Pastrnak because he plays a responsible defensive game and has skill

This was always the plan and didn’t work with Brad but is with Geekie

I'm thinking with Marchand it was more so they were trying to have two scoring lines, now their just looking for some positives in a year where they've depleted their roster.

I have been watching him all year, and not impressed, two games is not going win me over, especially at the kind of contract he is getting. I am pulling for you to be right and not me, the damage was done last summer when they gave him that contract.

This might be a career year for The Geek. Ideally there would be one more season at close to this level of production before having to decide to pay him a ton of money. Alas... management has got to decide if this season is a one off or the start of something big.

Some of you would have traded him at one point for a 2nd.

Ponder that.
What is the point of posting something like this? What's your point?

He sucked to start the year and he stunk so bad he was scratched multiple times. He was settled into a third line role and never showed what he's showing now.

Im glad they gave him the chance to prove himself. And he deserved to be rewarded.

Over almost the last 3 seasons Point & Kuzmenko have shot at 21% or better.
Over 90 games Shane Wright is at 23% and since you rounded Geekie up, I'll round up Drai, so 4 have.
Huh? Kuzmenko shot 27% in 22-23. Last year he shot 18%. This year he’s at 13.9%.

Using Brayden Point is actually making my point for me. One of the best players in the league.

Shane Wright played 8 games each of two seasons before his first full season this year. So that’s not germane whatsoever.

This is the third season Draisaitl has shot at 21% or better, in 10 seasons. One of those he led the league with a 21.6% shooting percentage. Again, you’re making my point for me.

To me geekie is a product of Pastrnak.

If he wants to be paid like that, I could be convinced to lock him up for a bit.

If he wants to be paid like a legitimate 30 goal guy over a longer term I pass and find the next player who can get the Erik Haula effect 3.0 by clicking with Pastrnak while on a cheap deal.

I think part of the equation was Pastrnak changing his game to be more of a playmaker instead of looking for the big one timer at the dots all the time, Lindholm's great for him if he plays like that. Would want more of a skill guy with them than Geekie though.

Habs fan here not trying to antagonize you guys, but hypothetically if Montreal were to offer him an OS would Bruins management be quick to match it?

In the 4-5 million range? I like Geekie, but obviously you guys watch him more and know to what extent the Bruins management values him at.
For me, it would need to be above the second round pick threshold, because I know I can get a second for him. Over $4.58M (this years number don’t know next year) it’s a first and I wish Morgan well in his travels.

I think it’s a waste because you can only have one line driver - Pastrnak is a duel option and he’s an elite passer

Geekie’s greatest skill is ability to get open - his sense

1/17 no Pasta

Generally speaking

To get a more skilled player he would have to score at like .6 or be a 50 goal scorer

Just my 2 cents watching them but they feed off each other

I'd say it's his ability to get open, and his shot. He can get a LOT on his shot that other forwards can't seem to match.
