@Moose Head @Kshahdoo bad wording on my part, sue me.

If I could do it all over again, I would not have put “right now” in the statement

I don't see what possible reason the Ducks would have to do this. They've already said Zegras is likely in their long term plans and Frost is older with less of a ceiling and pretty similar playstyles. Frost has been in Torts doghouse plenty and doesn't have the same kind of value as Zegras does.

I'd say 3 points in 10 games (or 15 in 31 last season) for $5.85M AAV doesn't make his value great. Frost at the very least is capable to do this for $2.1M AAV. But of course Zegras is still remembered for what he did in his first two NHL seasons, that's why the offer. Otherwise it would look stupid for Flyers to do something like this.

He has value because he's 23 for another 5 months and was injured with a pretty big injury last year, 10 games is an extremely low sample size and after coming back from injury last year he still looked pretty good despite a lack of practice.

Frost has never hit the numbers that Zegras has and isn't generally a very good playdriver. He's also benefited a lot from time with Michkov this year. Not saying that's all it is but even with all that he's still on his normal pace.

Considering Anaheim isn't likely to try and start contending this year I don't see what possible reason they would have to trade Zegras for Frost straight up. The only time you do that is if you think Frost is better right now (debatable) or that Zegras will regress to be worse than Frost is (always a possibility but seems pretty unlikely at this point in time) so I don't see this being a good match. If Zegras hits his birthday with his current level of production, maybe then it's time to look towards trading him if you don't think he rebounds, but it's been a constant criticism of Zegras that he's too soft, doesn't try hard enough, or doesn't play defense and that he's a has been, none of that is true, and he's only 23. He could marinate for another year or two and while I would be disappointed I wouldn't be upset. Guys usually break out when given opportunity and confidence. Zegras, for the record, hasn't really been given either this year.

Not sure why the Ducks would sell low on Zegras. What is the upside?

Where is this coming from? Him getting upset on the ice?

I’d argue zegras bad 1 of the best attitudes in the league.

His problem in years prior was immaturity but that hasn’t really showed up this year, trading him for frost would be dumb unless Philly is adding significant piece/s

It’s the coach. Zegras is a noticeably better player at center. It showed last night.
