They did it with Briere, Hartnell, Timonen.

Trade for Pronger.

Why not again baby
I said a few days ago, at this point, I'm fine if they just do what they do and just spend spend spend. As long as it's for the right pieces, I don't care.

They simply are not going to build a sustainable product like I and many here would like, so f*** it. Load as many bullets into your gun and run out there buck naked and guns blazing. At least there is the possibility of entertainment of some sort.

This was basically the Gaudreau (♥️) idea. Screw it, at least entertain me for a few years if we are doing this charade. Sell assets like Vegas, if you’re just going to waste them anyway on low ceiling players. But this is Briere’s eternally damning quote:

But like I said, when you’re not spending $12 million on a player, or even two like Edmonton does… Colorado has three or four high-end guys. We’re not going to be built that way. So depth will be important to us.

They truly, in their souls, believe that the Flyers are not a team built around superstars making bank. Konecny is their upper limit. They want 4 lines of vague interchangeability snot-and-balling their way to an 8th seed. They are allergic and/or oblivious to the “right pieces.”

Right, and when they spend on nonsense, that's its own form of entertainment for me. I'm smart like Danny, setting myself up for a win/win.

Edit: See what I mean??? Automerge worked perfectly

Ah, the Leroy Jenkins School of General Management. That could be entertaining.

Frost 1, Flyers 0.

and hire who? you? ffs, you can't just keep firing people.

I don't see this as a "bad" trade. I still want to see how this plays out in the next couple years. I see progress and a pathway to success and me and you will never agree on that quite obviously. Feel free to call me out in 2 years if this all crashes and burns.
Why even be on a discussion board if you are so afraid to have an opinion on anything in the present that you think there is no point in discussing it until you see the results years down the line.

Especially something as obvious as this.

I am watching this one…He’s been the best player on the ice so far. Had a prime scoring chance 2 shifts before that goal.

They are also playing him on the halfwall
Took them 1.5 games to figure out how to better deploy Frost. Multiple coaches and GM's for the Flyers couldn't figure that out in, what, 8 years?

The SportsNet commentators said a few times that the Flames FO was very excited for the added dimension Frost would bring to the PP, with zone entries and puck movement.
