You can’t tell me with a straight face that Foerster, Tippett, Cates, and Brink’s development stands in stark contrast to Frost and Farabee’s. As if they’ve taken a clear undeniable jump. I might listen about Brink beyond the counting stats, but he’s also someone who could easily be next up in Tortorella’s doghouse. But really all of their growth has flatlined or regressed. The production is unremarkable. Even Cates being pumped back to 35 points is not some transformative moment.
How can you challenge the eye test conclusion of a man who has coached 1,600 NHL games, most of which he has been behind the bench?

"Hey, f*** you all... " the epilogue and the continuance...

What 4th rate sport should we all follow folks?

Pickleball is better than Flyers. Even though I've never watched it or really know exactly what it is. The best we can hope for is Rocky fighting someone on the bench or Torts becoming the assistant GM or assistant President so he's off the bench, because he's going nowhere but up anyways. Imagine being the absolute worst at your job 4 years running and still being employed, it wouldn't fly anywhere, but it does fly here with the Flyers! #culture #halfacentury.

Got into a fight with someone in the Instagram comments (I know, my own fault).

Called this trade one of the most stupid ones in a long list of stupid moves in the last 10+ years.

Was told that shows how little I know because it totally was a good move.

Anyway, my question being, why are all these suckups, that still drink the kool-aid of this poverty franchise and toe the company line that Farabee's contract was some kind of albatross all of a sudden, such insufferable, condescending asshats?

If you dare question the wisdom and foresight of the franchise that has won one(!) playoff series in 13 years, you immediately get told that you don't know hockey and you don't know sh*t in general...

I would be 0% surprised if it someday came out that a ton of team employees are told to go fight negative comments online.

They just moved two young top six forwards for guys they could have had for free. Just for the sake of it.

And that's kind of the problem, isn't it? Briere will never get good value. His trade record is horrific. "Oh guess we simply can't make trades" isn't a viable course. So we arrive at what I've said the team needs for years. To fire everyone.

You don't understand. We're clearing the cap for the next big move. Maybe Deslauriers v2?

and hire who? you? ffs, you can't just keep firing people.

I don't see this as a "bad" trade. I still want to see how this plays out in the next couple years. I see progress and a pathway to success and me and you will never agree on that quite obviously. Feel free to call me out in 2 years if this all crashes and burns.

When you're on a path, the same path you've been on for years, maybe that path leads to nowhere? Just a thought.

Frost finished his sentence under Torts at minus one, with 108 GF and 109 GA at 5on5. The only Flyer forwards with a better 5on5 GF% in this time were JVR and Foerster.

Farabee was -15, and Tippett is -16. Two completely different players, per GMDB. Laughton is an eye watering -30 at 5on5.

It's unbelievable how if a playmaker makes the team, the Flyers completely seize up when trying to evaluate their effectiveness. They sit there in their box, brains overheating to 120 degrees, trembling and drooling. Eyes rolled back. Until they finally get angry enough to put down their drool cups and trade them. A complete and total short circuit.

Oh. The draft they traded down to, on account of it's sheer and unprecedented hulking and bulging strength.

Oh.

@JojoTheWhale can you please come stare at this thing HC has shared with us, from the kindness of his gall bladder?

If that's all really true... well.... congratulations on negotiations 101, talking about deficiencies of a draft where you have 3 first rounders and knowing about the deficiencies, you would probably like to trade some of those picks away...... but no. Let's talk about it so you can look like the smartest guy in the room in connection to something else. Wooooo
