The potential saving grace for all of this is that this product won't sell. Attendance will fall along with viewership. With Comcast moving along in the new South Broad Street sports complex, having the worst product in the line is unacceptable.
But that’s not happening in the next three months.

We all are pretty certain this regime is going to fail, we just don’t know when the organization will realize it themselves.

Having a continuation of Torts, as I see in the future, is the worst possible situation. Allowing Torts to coach passed this season would give me more hope they could realize it sooner.

So you traded these two young middle six guys for two players… one of which could have been had for free and the other is someone you already know is unlikely to work out here.

It really couldn’t be more obvious that there’s no plan.

We’ve already been told they’re steals with the cap going up by our resident dead head.
Oh, so the cap won’t be an issue.

So then what’s the logic for these trades again?

It can’t be both “we need cap space so they had to go” and “we’ll have plenty of cap space so bad contracts don’t matter” at the same time.

Contradictions and dishonesty from the team and their shills, as always.

Pointless. He’ll never acknowledge and respond to anything because he’s a shameless coward.

He’ll just cry about fans being too negative.

Spunk and Spunky were the words used to describe Pelletier.

Predictably, nobody asked why if they liked him so much they didn't put a claim in for him on waivers.

Wonder if they'll prioritize prospects at the draft that they feel are closer to NHL ready with this 18 month timeframe. Feels like a Flyers thing to do.
This is the big story line for me. How much do they shit down their leg having 7 picks in the top 2 rounds. They aren't going to take 7 players (even though they really love this draft) so hopefully we can trade one first for another first in the future.

They'll definitely try to trade up into the top 5.

I'm already mentally prepared for them to take McQueen over Hagens if they get the chance.

Number of those 7 used this year on a low upside player to keep some specific arbitrary balance within the system:

OVER 2 -110
UNDER 2 +130

Tortorella has his hands all over this organization. The guy can not develop or relate to young talent. We are seeing that with multiple players on the club. He doesn't want them and given any opportunity he will push them to flipped for an over twenty-five year old player. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Tortorella has approached Briere about moving out Michkov.
There is no reason as to why they want to nab all of these draft picks unless the aim is to flip them for veterans. My expectation is that the Flyers will go after FAs and RFAs as soon as they can. Perhaps offer sheet compensation for RFAs is the reason for getting draft choices in trades.
If I'm not mistaken, I don't think you can use draft picks acquired by trade for offer sheet compensation but I could be wrong.

These guys traded

I thought this quote from Charlie was kind of pertinent to the bolded above. Pretty clear indication that the organization just wasn’t happy with Frost or Farabee’s progress.

Incapable of asking themselves why their development isn't working out

Incapable of stringing together any series of major roster shakeups and subsequent quotes that make any type of sense. No moves seem to come persuant to a plan. Because there is none

Here is why their development doesn't work and Michkov is a perfect example. He is a thoroughbred that they insist has to be a plow horse first and learn how to plow the field before they will let him run in the derby.

A "reasonable deal" is just what every UFA on their last chance at a big payday wants to sign.
