Confirmed with Link: Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee traded to Calgary for Andrei Kuzmenko, Jakob Pelletier, 2025 2nd, 2028 7th

I'm pretty sure the exchange was the reporter asking what Sutter thought of Pelletier's performance in his debut, to which Sutter flippantly replied "What number is he?"

Say what you want about Torts (there are different levels of asshole), but Sutter is one of the very worst to ever be in the business. Seemed to take a genuine liking to breaking younger guys.

He’s an old school guy. Farmer.

I’ve met them, think he’s just used to that kind of language - but it’s not the world today. Especially in a professional environment. Find a boss that speaks like that to you, and you’re out the door giving him the middle finger.

Torts, and his bullshit only flies with guys who are scared to lose their NHL careers.

Another random thought (sorry if someone else made this point): it is interesting that with Laughton or Ristolainen, Briere's stance is that he has to be blown away by an offer in order to pull the trigger, but for two players whose age puts them more in Michkov's timeline, any half-assed deal will work.

OMG. I had no idea this happened until about 30 mins ago. Just finished reading the thread from the start in anticipation of the reaction to the full deal coming out. Page 12 is hilarious.

Chef's kiss to Deady. Watching him go from thinking the Trade details can't be correct because it is so bad and Danny can't be that stupid, to saying it's a nothing burger because Frost and Farabee can be replaced by AHL scrubs. Just top notch work there

Kuz is already scratched before he gets here, the only people that are rewarded here is Tippett and players who tackle other players, block shots or fight.

Hurts to lose Frost, I think he had way more to give and I think he'll do great with another organization, Joel Farabee is ass, and has been ass, and will continue to be ass.

The things I wanna type about Torts will get me banned so idk, long live God King Torts and his pal Rocky, running the worst PP in the league 4 years running!

I sort of agree with your post. Unfortunately Farabee has not been able to get back to being the player that he was before his neck injury. Maybe he can in Calgary. He’s owed a bag. If he recovers, he’ll be worth it. If not, he’s on Calgary’s payroll. Like with Frost, we’ll see if he’s been repressed by Tortorella.
Frost’s play has shown him to be a good 3C here. Now he wants 2C money which the Flyers were not going to give him. Perhaps Tortorella held Frost back and he will be a 2C. Time will tell. As an RFA, I don’t think that a team would give Frost an offer sheet over $4.5M so the compensation due to the Flyers would have been a second rounder selection which is what they got from Calgary.
The key to the trade is whether what Frost and Farabee are today is what they will be in the future. Are they really what they are or what Tortorella has made of them? I may be wrong but I think that it is the latter. Any coach who admits that they don’t know jack about offense isn’t going to enhance a player’s offensive performance be they Frost, Farabee, Michkov or whoever.

Your Bee hate is consistent, I'll give you that. I disagree, but I appreciate the sincerity.

I'd bet more on Farabee having a bounce back, than I would on Frost being much more than he is now. And that's ok.

This part is not directed at you, rather the folks who insist that Frost hasn't lived up to the expectations. Can we remember right quick that Frost went 27th OA in his draft? You know who went 20th OA in his draft? Future team President Scott Laughton.

Has Laughton met expectations? What did people actually expect out of a late 1st rounder? I'm going off of memory, but I'm pretty sure realistic projections were 2C if he hit his ceiling. Floor of a good middle 6 guy.

The only people who pumped up Frost into a star, were people who came to believe their own strawman arguments when arguing against people who just wanted him to have a legit shot to stick and play over "vets" he was better (and had more upside) than.

Tl,Dr: Neither of these guys have been stars, but this team out thinks itself when they get that kind of return, and thinks they made out somehow.

Farabee #14
Laughton #20
Frost #27

One of these things is not like the other. Only one is a f***ing Flyer

lol, a rebuild move pissing off all the people constantly screaming about needing to rebuild. Too good. Only in Philly.

Kuzmenko is a reclamation project but he might help Michkov in other ways not to be underestimated. The deal doesn't thrill me but I have no issues with it. The path continues in the right direction.

It isn't a rebuild move. Keeping the two forwards who are 25 and under with remaining upside, and trading things like Laughton and Risto could be rebuilding moves.
