Who did you believe had more trade value two days ago?

I said Brady Tkachuk.

Brady's a bit of a unicorn as a power forward in today's game. Larkin is a good player, but an unremarkable #1C is worth less, in my opinion.

Larkin is a better player but I think Brady brings an element that is harder to find.

Question is what version of Brady the Panthers get, I guess.

In a vacuum though, Brady probably has slightly more value.

To the Wild and Guerin/front office, I am fairly certain they would have valued Tkachuk significantly higher than Larkin regardless of position.

Personally, I’d say are in the general ballpark in terms of value. Brady is a bit of a rare bird in the league right now. You can win with players like Larkin except for if you’re Detroit apparently. But he’s certainly not the top end of what he does.

Larkin by position is more valuable.

Brady is a fine player and I loved him on the Sens.

But he has his warts and is a bit over rated, he's not as good as Mathew and also his two way game is lacking.

Larkin I really like and I think he would have even better stats if he had a better supporting cast.

Tkachuk is the more unique player, but Larkin is a center, much better defensively, has produced better the last 2 years, and has 5 years remaining as opposed to 2. I don’t know that Tkachuk’s uniqueness bridges the above.

I dont think Larkin is much better defensively. You also have to mention he is 4 years older. That is a rather large factor here.

Depends on what the team needs. If you need a center, you pay more for the center. If you want to trade for a worse brother, you pay more for that.

That's a good point. Larkin will be 30 in July.

Probably balances out the value difference of a Center vs Winger.

Could see Larkin going for a very similar package as such.

Yeah, on *average* Brady probably has like 6 prime years left and Larkin has like 2. That's not a small difference. I'm really trying to hedge as much as a can with the word "average", because these two could age very differently, but it is a pretty significant chunk of prime years we are talking about here.
