More MVP Worthy Player: Mackinnon, Kuch or Drai?

You seem to be missing the point that the Hart trophy has a long history of treating goalies differently than forwards. It's always taken a historically good year for a goalie to win a Hart, not true for forwards.
I'd argue that that is my point. Hellebuyck hasn't had that kind of year in my opinion. Also, did you miss the part where a forward became the third player ever to put up 40+ goals and 100+ assists last year and lost the Hart? I agree, if there was a more just system to award the Hart it would be better, but we're stuck with what we have.

Sheesh. That is a wide margin.

When was Jagr snubbed?
It's not so much that Jagr was snubbed he just happened to have an incredible 7 year stretch where Mario and then Hasek overlapped a bit and played 63 games twice and ended up with Hart results of

1,2,2,2,3,4,13

Easily could have been a finalist every year for that stretch without the two 63 game seasons IMO.

He is the best playmaker.

The players still think MacKinnon is a better all around player and forward though.

So these results are valid but somehow the Hart and TL voting was rigged ?

I'm confused, I thought the media and players were all biased and the only thing that matters are point totals
Alright, and the players also think Vasilevskiy is the best goaltender. Meanwhile, the odds-on favorite for the Hart right now (at least on FanDuel) is Hellebuyck, who the players don't even see as a top 2 goaltender.

There just isn't a meaningful stat that puts MacKinnon in front of Kucherov this year. You'd need to be going off of intangibles which to most people just sounds like bias.

But he's right. Prestige of the award can be diminished with obvious snubs.
Kucherov's case was stronger than MacKinnon's last year, as he was better and more valuable to his team. While he didn't repeat the last year's historic scoring, he'll win the Art Ross once again, and his case for being MVP is even stronger. Voting any other player MVP again would just scream bias and leave people wondering - what else must he do?
Two things: 1) Become Canadian by renouncing his Russian citizenship. 2) Apologize to the NHL & NHL writers/press for not digging their Allstar Gm drills more.

Hellebuyck should win it.
MacKinnon has no business being ahead of Kucherov two years in a row. Arguably not even once.
Draisaitl was the MVP of all forwards for me (as Kucherov fan), but missing time at the end and Hellebuyck playing great settles it.
Okay I'm a Lightning fan- I admit it and am immediately stating my bias. If you look at the goalie stats today Vasilevsky is also having a brilliant season so I don't necessarily think Helle has crushed all
the other goalies. Helle has had a brilliant season no question but in my humble biased opinion Vasy has as well.

What's crazy is that there are many games where Kuch is setting up teammates 6-9 times and they miss and there are no points given. I've seen it more often than not where he could've conceivably had 6-9pt games. He is a brilliant player and deserves to be recognized more.
Sooner or later is gonna happen, the perfect game where most of the high danger scoring chances he creates will be buried by his teammates. We saw him getting 6 points against CGY last December, but that isn't his peak IMO. He'll get an 8 points night before he retires, calling it.

He is the best player and deserves the MVP this year (shoul also had it last year) Second year in he wins his Art Ross with less games played than number 2. He is amazing!!!!

Pasta has 49 more points than the second leading scorer on the Bruins. That has to make him a contender right?

I would pick Draisaitl or Mackinnon to win the Hart with Hellebuyck and Kucherov as the runner-ups.

Not when they’re last in the conference
lol it’s a team sport use some kind of logic please instead of just going off vibes. Put any other hart contender in Pasta’s place and they aren’t improving in the standings.

But they wouldn't be a Hart contender then if they were in Pasta's place
No one denies his talent or what he has done on that team, but he shouldn't get anything more than a few 5th place pity votes from some Northeast writers that just want to end up writing an article that he should have received more votes than he did.
