More MVP Worthy Player: Mackinnon, Kuch or Drai?

Such an odd take. He missed 4 games. Kucherov also missed 4 games. Why would that disqualify Draisaitl?
It doesn't disqualify him. It might even the playing field though - make it closer. If neither Kucherov nor Draisaitl had any injury time, the discussion might be a little different, even though it was only 4 games each. A big 4 game run from either player could certainly make a difference when there are 4 legitimate candidates this year.

Colorado absolutely had the better roster. Tampa had 1.5 capable lines, tops. They were playing Anthony Duclair on line 1 in the playoffs. Matt Dumba was on their third pair. One of Nick Perbix and/or Darren Raddysh were top 4 d men. They had at least 1-2 rookie D in the lineup nightly. And their goalie had back surgery in October.
We will have to agree to disagree. Tampa finished with six 20 goals scorers and five 70 point men, that's a pretty solid roster. Colorado's third best scoring forward had 56 points and they had Georgiev in net all season, one of the worst starting goalies in the NHL last season.

I mean Vasy rocked a 0.900 to Georgiev’s 0.897 last season.

I’m not sure what either of those have to do with Kucherov and MacKinnon’s production, though.

Did you happen to take a look at the teams that the Avs had in their division in 2021? Because I don't know if anyone would accuse the Sharks, Ducks, Kings, or Coyotes of being good hockey teams. MacKinnon just didn't score anywhere near as well as McDavid did, despite playing against some awful teams.

And again, scoring a lot of points on the power play is a good thing. You see how it's a little disingenuous when you take out a big chunk of McDavid's production in his career year, but leave in the production from MacKinnon's career year, right?
Conveniently leave out Vegas, Minnesota, and STL? All three were leaps and bounds better than anything Canada had to offer defensively that season.

Im not saying PP isnt a good thing, but when the bulk of his production comes from there and all of a sudden people think he is magically having a down year, this year, you look at what the difference is. Ironically he is up this year ES wise.

I really don't see why MacKinnon should win it this season. He's arguably not even the best player on his own team, also not as dominant as last year.
Take away McDavid from Draisaitl's season and see what happens. Thats what happen to MacKinnon, plus the gongshow of other turnover around the team.

Ill spoil it for you. Draisaitl would actually see the toughest D matchups each night, instead of the B team and he wouldnt be able to park in the corner waiting for one timers while McDavid does all the work.

You don't watch games of the Oilers, do you?

Minny allowed 220 goals against the season before in 69 games, which was worst in the central division and per game, bottom 10 in the league. Not sure where you got the idea that they were a defensive powerhouse. Of those three teams you listed, only the Blues could have been considered particularly good defensively. So that excuse doesn't work.

Bro. Draisaitl has been carrying around a waiver addition (Podkolzin) and an undersized 30+ yr old guy who can't score to save his life this year (Arvidsson) all season long. Mackinnon is glued to the absolute best players the Avs have every single shift (Makar, Rantanen, Necas, etc). If you're gonna comment on other teams try and tune in at least once lmao. It's legitimately tough to read your takes pal, so so so bad.

There are 3-5 better candidates for Hart than Mack. He's not in the race.

Lets add in OT goals as well in the gimmicky 3v3. ES points > everything
PP points are extremely important too. Special teams often decide the results of games.

Mackinnon also has the very best play driver from the backend in Makar supporting him at ES. Just imagine if Mcdavid, Draisaitl or Kucherov had that behind them.

This is a very, very lazy take. Have you watched Draisaitl play without Mcdavid in the lineup? He is still a dominant force on the ice every shift just like Mackinnon is.

That's a funny way of saying "we had three guys who scored ~100 points or more"

I'd also consider werenski if he can get columbus into the playoffs.

Also, makar if makar scores 32 goals hes going to be the first dman to score more than 31 goals in 32 years. Even if he just gets to 30 goals that is extremely rare for a dman. He's going to win the dman points rare by around 15 points too. Also makar is 9th in overall league scoring, for a dman that is huge
