Give it to Drai, he has fully deserved it.
And let Kucherov have another AR and be pissed that he’s got no Hart again so he’ll have insane summer training and monster next season and playoff (and probably with another AR next year).

I’m OK with that. One more Cup could also help to relieve the pain.

A lot can happen in the last 8-9 games. MacK might go on a hot streak again and has the “complete center” narrative going for him anyway (rightfully so I might add).

For me it’s either Drai (just look at his goal totals) or Kuch (best P/GP while at the overall top in points). If I had to pick one right now it’s Drai even though it’s super close.

MacKinnon should not get it.
Last year he got it, because he never had a chance before. sort of a lifetime award, even though he was behind Kucherov, who had 100 assists and won Art Ross and leading the team in points with much higher distance. At least MacKinnon had a good amount of goals. I understand why they gave it to him.

This year? MacKinnon is nowhere near close to winning it (place 4 for me). The way Draisaitl is playing and carrying the team and is the leading all forwards in goals he should be the winner of the Hart Trophy. I have Kucherov above MacKinnon as well. But this year its very close between those two. And of course Connor Helleybuck, who has a fantastic season should be considered as well.

It comes down to this: Who should win his second Hart? MacKinnon, Draisaitl oder Kucherov.

No way MacKinnon is deserving two in a row, when he wasn't a clear winner in one of those years.

It's Draisaitl all the way this year

Ravenous Canadian player/team bias and anti-Russian sentiment on full display.

If Goals are the end all, be all, shouldn't Matthews have won it last year with 69 goals?

That said, Draisaitl has been fantastic.

Dunno, Draisaitl first game back and it's an absolute carry job on a game that Edmonton never would have deserved to win otherwise.

Even though the hockey stat cards aren't perfect, Draisaitl's avg per game is 1.88, MacKinnon 1.68, Kucherov 1.75, McDavid 1.66.

It's a pretty clear gap there, too.

Ovechkin deserves the Hart if he breaks the Gretzky's record and the Capitals win the President trophy.

Other contenders are Hellebuyck and Makar

Draisaitl wins this year in a photo finish.

But I wouldn't dispute any one of them winning it. All worthy.

Kucherov could win his third Art Ross, which is as many as Crosby and Ovechkin combined.

That better?
Mcdavid better get on his horse or pretty soon all these guys will catch him. 2 years in a row

No point in even putting mcdavids name in your post. He is getting eradicated for the second consecutive season.

Draisaitl is 5 points back from the scoring lead right now. Matthews was nearly 40. Goals aren't the end all be all. But when all things are nearly even they're important.

Who does Kucherov play on a line with?

Who does Kucherov play on a line with?
The Lightning run a lot of 11/7, so the lines shuffle all game long. Typically Guentzel and Point, but sometimes he's out there with Cirelli and Hagel or whoever Cooper decides to put out there. Which is part of the reason why the Lightning have so many 20 or 30 goal scorers.

Kucherov should have won it last year but we gave it to MacKinnon so that he'd have one. Thus I think you could make an argument that Kucherov deserves this one as recompense. I'd say Draisaitl has probably had the best season of the three. Helleybuck is probably the most valuable player to his team.

So my ranking would probably go
Helleybuck
Drai
Kucherov
Makar

Drai @Filthy Dangles or whoever else is still trying to convince themselves that he’s a product of to any level.

lol, why are you tagging me...?

No one said the bolded. When you're comparing him and his career to Evgeni Malkin it's certainly relevant to mention he he has played more than 50% of his time on ice with Connor McDavid.

People are saying scoring is up and Sv% is down, but if you look at the top goalscorers this year outside of Draisaitl it looks like the dead puck era. Willie Nylander is the only guy who has a chance at 50 and it seems unlikely (needs almost a GPG to get there). Draisaitl has 50 in 69GP while Nylander is the only other guy to even crack 40.

What is going on with scoring/sv% this year and why is Draisaitl unaffected?

So when comparing McDavid to Crosby should you also consider that?

Did i not see his snipes last night, urey obvious 🤣🤣

MacKinnon is behind Makar. Fine with Drai and Helly, with Kuch/Makar taking 3rd and 4th.

In reality Kucherov probably finishes 8th though.
