The 3rd and 4th lines have to be the best players in some games. The 1st line isn't going to be on every game. The porblem is the 2nd line is not good enough to make up for the offensiveless 3rd and 4th lines.

Here's the thing....6 on 5...no matter if Laine has been awful...you send him there. But that's only if you want to win of course. Tank commander.

Clearly it was intended to "send a message", but history tells that benching Laine has never worked for any team that did it. Torts tried it a few times and it just made him play more shitty to be honest.

It's more likely he gets out of his slump by scoring a goal in a 6 on 5 scenario like that.

While I am 100% aligned with the sell, Hughes need to f***ing start buying too. This team has nothing... So you sell useless vets... fine. What are you left with? Selling needs to be used to make space for acquiring solid NHL players. Pay the f***ing money. Trade the picks. But get at least 2 f***ing lines that can play hockey and at least 2 defense pairs. And for the love of god, get a new head coach and have St Louis assist him if we must.

Yes, Martin was forcing Gaineys hand by not playing certain guys, and making 4th liners first line players, like Darche.

Remember when Bergevin got PAP, Briere and Vanek ? Therrien decided he didn't like these additions and so didn't utilize them. I get that Vanek was a bit lost in the post season but when your team isn't scoring do you hope a prolific scorer regains his touch by playing his way out of it, or do you put him on the 4th line with, 4th line talent ?

So yes, you need a GM who will call remind the coach who calls the shots.

Also Julien playing Dwight King over Galchenyuk in playoffs. I mean yeah Galchenyuk was struggling but less than Dwight King. Dwight King was like watching your 80 years old grandma playing hockey.

I’m not sure why Armia was on but Dvorak was on because he’s the only left shot centre they have who can consistently win a faceoff (face off was on his strong side). They need to address that in the offseason.

I think saying a player who is not producing that he's giving his 100% every game is an oxymoron. Gallagher has 3 points in his last 16 games which is a pace of 15 points every 82 games. That's a pace you would expect from a totally skill less player giving his 100% playing 8-10 minutes a game. Gallagher is playing 13:43 minutes a game there no way he's having this kind of production over 16 games while giving his 100% every games. When you start benching players you need to be very cautious. When i look at the production of the Dvorak's line it's a line that should be playing 10-12 minutes a game but they are playing 13-14 minutes a game.

HuGo we do not have a 2C on this team nor do we have one ready in Laval we are three years out with Hage or perhaps Demidov if we mentor him properly.
