We are really back to being terrible 🤬
Not really. It's a young team with a lack of depth. We basically need everyone to be 120% to compete and it happened for a month between December and January but it was never going to last. Dach and Newhook are back to not being good top 6 player. Hutson has cooled off a bit. Armia and Evans has cooled off too. First line is a tiny bit less effective and outside of the first 20 games the Dvorak line has been useless despite a TOI very close to a normal 3rd line since MSL is running 4 lines.

If we want to compete next year we have to find a top 4 RHD who can play with Hutson and it will mean letting someone go (Savard). We also have to add a top 6 player ideally Demidov. This will push Newhook down so we'll have to let someone go on the wing too (Armia, Gallagher or Anderson). We need to improve the top 6 and top 4 or else we will remain inconsistent.

RDS still loves Drouin. In the summary it notes his name with 2 assists, but the goal scores aren't named. Funny, ha.

It's a good thing Troy Terry is out we'd be down 2 goals by now.
PP1 needs to be ripped up and burnt. It's pathetic.
I don't know if it's just me but Laine looks checked out on the bench.
He's kind of checked out on the ice too.
He seems to be about as interested in playing as I was in attending church when I was a kid.

Good post.

They are developing our 1st OA prospect so well aren't they...
I mean if playing him on the top line and the 1st pp unit isn’t the right way to develop him, I’m not sure what is?

Where else does he play on the 1st unit? Maybe they can throw him on the second unit and put Gallagher in his spot, is that preferable?
