I have no problem with Eller sitting (assuming he's healthy). He's been looking lost, not engaging as physically, not setting up plays or creating as many chances. His mental game has been in a rut before, and he's sat a game or two. The break has done him a world of good -- he's come out more focused and his game becomes more effective. Whatever the reason -- confidence, concentration, anger -- Eller's game is largely determined by his mood.
Yeah, the team was gassed. I've seen better transitions during a colonoscopy.
As for Bourque, he is what he is. It's not like he'll learn his lesson if he's benched. Eller, on the other hand, has a higher upside which he can reach with the proper prodding. When he's on, he's a Tasmanian Devil out there, spinning and banging and battling and zooming in on the net. But when he's off, he's like one of those kids toys that spins around real fast but doesn't go anywhere.
