if you look at the deal in OP it's negative value. Leafs 2nd will probably be ~35-40, Habs 1st will be ~25-31, move up 10 spots usually costs about another 2nd ~40-45.

The rest of the deal is Holland for DD which is a no for Toronto

But yeah sure see Holland in the deal and immediately rag on it as if this deal assumes value. I guess I'll have to go...

Sportsnet panel tonight said he's trade bait for MTL, and would return a 5th round pick. This is very fair price to pay to deal with an unfortunate temporary circumstance.

If our 1C is out why would we replace him with a healthy scratch from a vastly worse team? We have plenty of guys who can step in for DD, its Chucky that leaves a hole.
