This is a 37 year old 1C who holds all of the cards. This isn't a value issue. It's an issue if he would ever want to move and where he would want to go. Crosby is one of the best players of all time, but that still doesn't change the fact that he's nearly 40. I don't really see anyone paying more than that for his age 38-40 seasons.

20-27 year old Crosby for sure it would be laughable.

Demidov is Michkov on steroids. Not a self centered type and didn't have to get loaned to another KHL team for him to get min's. Demidov has earned and forced SKA to play him more. His U20 production is neck/neck with Kaprizov and he's not getting the same amount of PP time.

Demidov is Michkov on steroids. Not a self centered type and didn't have to get loaned to another KHL team for him to get min's. Demidov has earned and forced SKA to play him more. His U20 production is neck/neck with Kaprizov and he's not getting the same amount of PP time.

You have a better chance of seeing Malkin in a different jersey than Sid in all honesty. Sid will force Dubas to pull a Washington and do a retool just to give him another real shot at a cup before he calls it quits.

I do think Malkin gets moved first. Do you really think Crosby (one of the most competitive players in the NHL) is going to like losing?

How much faith do you have in Dubas at retooling this on the fly this summer? Caps farm team won back/back AHL championships and I know the Pens pool is thin. Back to back seasons where a piece like Dubois and Chychrun are available for cheap? When the cap is going up by $4M? Dubas likes Karlsson types and he's not good at evaluating gritty types. That's been a clear trend

I'd put a $100 bet that the Pens miss the playoffs again next year. And yeah, this is me wanting Crosby but also knowing he might want to go to the Avs before the Habs.

Per KHL rules, Demidov cant be loaned this year (unlike Michkov’s D+1).

Considering Demidov's early usage, there’s a serious possibility Rotenberg might've loaned him out early had his contract allowed it.
