@Bud In Nice. And yeah, few friends are going to come over and we should be able to catch a game or two at the Allianz Riviera which is a few minutes away. Would be my first real European Game. So far I've only seen a pre-season friendly.

I still don't feel confident in this team. It just doesn't feel right. We've won 5 of our last 6, but I still feel disconnected. Might be because the league generally doesn't give 2 ***** about IMFC, but still

I get the same feeling. Personally it's the fact that we don't have a real superstar finisher anymore. Di Vaio was a machine and it's just not the same with Mac. He's a good finisher, but a pretty mediocre soccer player elsewhere. I'll feel way more confident when we'll have a more physical striker in our 1 forward system.

Kenny Cooper looked good in that role

We don't need another finisher. We score more than enough goals. We have a huge hole at DM most of the time, that's where we need help. Offensively we are more than fine, we need to concede less and "tighten games up" especially on the road. If anything, we need a DP DM, not a striker.

A superstar striker might put butts in the seats, but if we want a championship, we need a DM. McInerney produces enough. Oduro, Cooper and AJH are fine back ups. Romero and Piatti will score their fair share of goals, as will Duka. I miss MDV as much as the next guy, but I don't miss the "Di Vaio-dependance". We don't have that this year and it is a great thing. If we could have MDV or a similar player with Romero, Piatti and Mapp, it would be optimal, sure, but I prefer to invest money at DM, where we have a REAL problem.

We have depth at every position, we score a lot, we have a good/great back line, but we lack control at the DM position. It is our only hole (well, our coach is a dummy, but personnel-wise, we only need a DM).

Great sunny day = nobody at Olympic Stadium to see France vs South Korea. THIS is exactly why this stadium sucks for summer. Should have been played at Saputo.

Our DM is fine as it is. I don't know what you're finding that I don't see here. Yesterday was a tight enough game for me, mainly because all 4 of our 4 defensive midfielders hit the field. Unless a big-time player becones available, than sure it's a pretty cool luxury to have. Our biggest issue is that we don't finish enough of our set-ups. I see Romero, Duka and Piatti constructing plays every single game but with no one there in the middle to finish it. A player like Altidore, Adi or Keane would make this team challenge for 1st place imo.

Toia is so underrated. Have rarely seen him make a mistake, brave, physical, and terrifying when angry. What more to ask.

I didn't watch yesterday's game but I believe I heard (in the NYCFC game) that while Toia is on the field, no team has scored from his side. I can't tell if it's right or not but it do seem like most goals have come from the other side

Yesterday's DM's performance is an outlier. They usually lose many many many balls and commit many costly fouls. The DM position has been our achile's heel so far this year. If they can play like that most games, it would help a lot. However most team.press more agressively than OCSC, so Donadel and especially NRC (who looks much better when he has time) will struggle more often then not. We need a Beckerman much more than we need a Altidore, IMO. Would take both if we could afford them and keep our amazing depth, not gonna lie

Let's get a quality DM first. That's the biggest need. After that we can think about getting a better striker if needed.

Sinclair LW, Belanger RW and Rhian at RB. All bold moves for Herdman, especially since Rhian was not very good last game.

Stumbled upon this. Will never forget this roar.

Today is not a sunny day. 30 minutes of sun does not equal to a great sunny day.

And even if they wanted they could not play at Saputo as the stadium is natural grass and would not correspond to the artificial turf other stadiums across Canada have.

The Swiss defense, according to Kara Lang, is slow. Bringing Belanger forward makes sense. Her speed should give them trouble.

Let's go girls! This game is winnable and if we win the next one (Norway or England) should be as well, anything but a semi-final berth would be disappointing. Go Canada go!

This is an old, beaten down canadian team. We're gonna need nothing short of a miracle to win this one.
