Montreal is attractive, but not the Impact. Not yet anyway.
Loser mentality. Period.
Atleast teams like Toronto and NYCFC are trying to gather interest, fill up their stadium and try to go all the way. L.A has won the title 2 straight years with 3 DP's and Seattle dominates every year.
As far as I know, you were part of the pack that kept on talking about Giovinco's contract, like somehow it was coming out of your pockets, and it turns out to date he's this year's MVP.
Just give me more francophone players m8. From France, Belgium, Cameroon or w/e. Doesn't have to be a big name.
LA had Landon Donovan and Omar Gonzalez as DPs. Two locals. And they're developing some nice talent. While Keane is a great acquisition, not all the DPs turn out good. See Defoe.
Same with Seattle. Two "locals" (Dempsey and Alonso). Those players care. Martins is a great addition.
That said, those teams are well built. That's way more important than the jerking off about having a big name and spending money stupidly.
These clubs can buy players because they're damn rich. It doesn't guarantee a winning team if you can't build a good team from the back until the striker. Toronto will not win **** because of this reason. They're still poor at the back.
You can say we're not trying hard enough. This team is winning and has had great results this year. And it's still progressing. I don't care about a big name, I just want a good player. No need to have some glamour ************ just to brag about it.
As for the second part, it may not be my money but it's my club so not overspending stupidly will keep it alive.
Yes, Gio is great. Still insanely overpaid. The most paid Italian player in the world isn't even part of the Squadra Azzura. Tell me it makes any sense. They can spend as much as they want, for sure but old NASL went down for the same reasons.
How is it a loser mentality? When we're arguing against a big name, we're not asking for Krzizstof ****ing Krol's. We want players of Piatti's skill level. Even Ciman's talent level. Joey keeps saying he's against the way Toronto and certain clubs spend money and he won't overspend. If he can convince a Nesta to come cheaply cool, but I don't know why a star or big name is a standard for some guys. Piatti makes something like 400k IIRC (correct me if I'm wrong). Ciman came here for family reasons but his salary can't be that high as we made him non-DP with allocation money.
This team is already trending the right way, hopefully they can get a road result or two this week.

These men speak the truth, listen to them.
I quoted you because I was trying to add to your post while answering Pax MacAre you answering Pax Macioretty or me?![]()
Very impressed with Piatti, he already speaks french. Impact media just posted a video.
No thank you. If we ever get to the point where we have 3 DP's in the range of David Villa, Frank Lampard and Andreas Pirlo (good god that's impressive! ) not a single soul will discuss overpayment or even age for that matter.
All this is right now is Cognitive dissonance because we all know Joey won't ( I won't say can't cause we all know that's not true) invest in these range of numbers.
Anyways, we all know that we need a bigger and more physical n.9 plus a way better n.8 that transitions the ball from defense to offense. Just getting 1 of our more pressing needs would be fantastic.
Impact should just sign me. I'd make everyone on this board just love eachother and have nothing to debate about cause we would go unbeaten.
Depends, if the rest of the team were crap and we were losing, people would be angry. With three guys like that, we wouldn't have the depth we have.
If we could had a 25-30 years old number 8 for what Piatti makes? Sure, that would be a great investment! Old glories? Might pay at the gate, big risk on the field. We do not have to unlimited funds of TFC or LAG, we have to be smart with our money. DPs aren't the end-all-be-all of the MLS. It is one thing to have DPs, but you need the right ones. MDV was a right one, Piatti as well. I trust Joey and co to spend on the right guys.
You play DM?
You know who I would love for IMFC, CoquelinHe would never come as he just established himself in Europe, but he is the EXACT type of player we need.
All the DP's added were the right ones, doesn't that tell you something about adding quality players?
Also you were talking about the rest for the cast, obviously 3 good players can't do it all and I've never implied that whatsoever. Personally the team is set imo. We have depth and quality at pretty much every position. We just lack those game changers that that give you those 4,5 extra wins by themselves. Villa beat the Impact alone, Giovinco has been winning games for TFC, etc etc. Who's doing that for us? Right now the answer is Laurent Ciman, Ã player in still don't get how we managed to get him without the tag at his age.

Just sign me. I can cross the ball better than Tissot. I also speak French.
