petry-andrighetto 2nd pick for nichuskin roussel and johns

This is almost as bad as the OP.

A 21-year old top 9 nine winger with potential, a fan favorite pest, and an up-and-coming physical RHD.

Petry replaces Johns (at almost 8X the cost), Andrighetto maybe replaces Roussel, and a 2nd for Nuke is terrible value.

No thanks.

tbh hes a year away from the NHL. Full time? maybe 2.

wasn't he recently struck with some viral problem ? at his size he would have to be fantastically skilled to be a regular. does anyone see that yet ?

In the best case scenario, he might be a 3rd line player and as many can attest the pool of such players is so large that remaining at this position full time is a job in of itself.

There is nothing wrong with paying $5.5 million for a #3 defenseman long term. But, I think if Dallas was looking to do that, they would have just re-signed Goligoski or Demers (perhaps we should have done that anyways, not sure).

Regardless the Stars elected to go young, talented and cheap. So I think the Stars would rather have Johns than Petry. Jury is out on whether that would be a good move or not.

To Montreal: Valeri Nichushkin and Antti Niemi@50%

vs

To Dallas: Martin Reway/Charles Hudon, David Desharnais, Mike Condon and 4th pick 2018

MTL POV: Nuke could be a solution on the 2nd line with Gally/Radulov and Plekanec.. Niemi is a solid #2 and was a good #1 in the past I don't know much about him now.

Dal POV: Nuke is RFA and maybe gone to KHL if the thing still sucks.. so Hudon or Reway are NHL ready and both talented. DD is a cap dump for taking Niemi extra year.. Condon is a good backup with a good contrat.

So we lose a good prospect, a guy who is a ufa at years end, a decent backup and a pick for a guy who might run to Russia and an expensive goalie backup/cap dump

Where do I sign

I think the best deal would be Nichushkin for Yak. One near bust for another near bust.

3 Montreal proposals this week

3 big time screws

3 offers that Montreal will, incredibly but not shockingly, claim THEY are the ones getting screwed

and 3 Montreal members will judge you that you know nothing of hockey

am i missing something?
This is becoming more true by the minute.
