I really want to watch the rookie Hutson tonite. He is electric with the puck but so poor defensively right now. He's better than Jiricek offensively, but worse defensively. I think he should be in the AHL, but they play him about 23 minutes a night, it's crazy.

I believe we and the Jets are the only teams he’s not scored on in his career (aside from Utah if they count)

So yeah naturally if he plays he’s getting one

Also I’ll be there tonight. We have 3 home losses this year and I’ve been to two of them (0-2). So make of that what you will

When we're not playing (that's when I watch during the break) I watch Montreal (I'll admit, because of Laine), so I watched last night's game. I'll say it diplomatically, if we don't win, the players need to hard skating drill.

Hutson is worse. He's not as electric anymore. I think one of the reasons ( besides the fact that the Habs coach and opposing players have gotten used to him) is that he has to play easier, since the hockey IQ of most of Montreal's forwards is mediocre. Besides, Laine is not playing yet, Dach is not in shape after his injury (knee injuries are no joke) and Slafkovský is Slafkovský. For me, a big disappointment. And I I am Slovak like him.

worse than jiricek defensively? DAMN. he must be absolutely putrid because Jiricek’s Defense / defensive zone IQ/play is pretty horrendous.

Last night, 3rd period up a goal he pinches from the left point to the right corner to give up a 2-1 and the tying goal.



I really want him to be good, it would be great to have him on the US team for a dozen years. But he's a long way away defensively.

I even thought he could win the Calder and surprise folks a bit (even if he's been talked about for a while). But sounds like he too has work to do on the defensive side then.

A 160 lbs defenseman ? Not sure about that
