That's just as terrible for the Avs as the OP is. A Potential Top 5 pick, a young Top 4D with Top 2 potential, another Top 40 pick, and a Chir Bigras?

Also, to the OP. Needs more Sergachev. Pretty sure a rumor came out after the draft the Avs were very high on Serg at the draft and it was likely he or Jost they were taking at 10 before Montreal made that decision for him.


Any trade for Duchene with MTL would almost certainly have Sergachev as the starting point. With something like a 1st and a B prospect or Top 9 roster player being the add.

If duchene gets traded for that, its a nightmare for the Avs. If Galchenyuk gets traded for that, its another nightmare for the Habs.

Except Z is a top pairing D. He and EJ have been the best pairing and play the toughest minutes. Bednar has had to split them up though as outside of them our next best pairing is Wiercioch and Barrie. Has to spread the wealth. Z and EJ being split is not a permanent thing. Watch Z more. He's the real deal.

He's not a top pairing defensman right now...come on. He started out really well, but he's struggled of late. He absolutely has the potential, but right now he's a young defensman going up and down the lineup.

That is a really inaccurate generalization. Plenty of Leafs fans regularly make similarly bad proposals. Same with pretty much any large fanbase. Hell, even fans of small-market teams make bad proposals. You're just overreacting to one. It reminds me of a certain politician that refers to everything as the "best ever or [worst] ever, depending on which sounds better."

Awful for the Avs and i am a big Juulsen fan. Not sure how available Duchene is these days, but if he is, he would garner a better return than that.
