Markov isn't even a top-4 defenseman anymore, imo. 3rd pairing and 2nd PP unit is his home at this point. It's a shame because I look back at his prime years and how they were derailed by two straight knee injuries and now he can't do anything because he's way too slow.

I think he'd be fine on the second pairing. Petry is more than capable of making up for his shortcomings. And while Markov makes a tortoise cringe in disbelief, he still handles the puck well.

Educated fans watch the game and discuss it in the Game Discussion Thread (GDT). If you want to find a place to have an endless stream of smoke blown up your ass and how hard everybody is playing and how nice everybody is, then don't go to a forum filled with educated fans.

Anybody who gets their feelings hurt when people post how poorly the team is playing while getting owned on the ice obviously has some confidence issues.
