If we lose that one, reaching the playoffs is going to be a nightmare. 1-6-1 is a really difficult record to overcome if your team is an average team to begin with. People act like "there is plenty enough time to win games", well... ALL the other teams have plenty of time to win games, including the teams with a great record already. We also have no "injury" excuse right now.

We'd need to go something like 40-24-10 to hope for the 8th position in the playoffs. And that's going for the 8th... and we all know how tight the race for the 8th position is.

And with Toronto/Tampa Bay being much better, as well as many teams in the East (such as New Jersey or even Carolina/Philly), winning won't be as easy as when we had to deal with a shitty Atlantic division and rivals we used to dominate such as Boston.

I feel the same way. Can't do it.

I totally get people wanting MB gone and going for a high pick and all that. But I just can't actively cheer against my own team. It just goes against the grain.

Yep, If we are in a good lottery spot, so be it. But in terms of the process to get there, I'm only programmed to root for wins. Is it short sighted? Yes, but I don't know how a fan can operate otherwise.

you really have a problem with lehkonen, byron gallagher hudon ?

Gallagher is not the same since his hand problems. The will is still there but the club needs 20 goals from him too. Lehkonen has had a disappointing start. He was probably the habs 2nd best winger in the playoffs, and now he's either unnoticeable or ineffective. Hudon has had chances, no finish. Byron has probably been our best winger. Things are happening when he's out there, but again, he only has one goal.

Simply put, our 5 first rounders forwards, hemsky, pacciopherie, galchenyuk, danault and Drouin need to outwork the grinders like lekhonen, gallagher, shaw , Byron, hudon , pleky and de Larose for us to win. Our most talented and skilled players are all perimeter guys that glide around the ice and our grinders all crash the net and create chances but can't score cuz they have no talent to finish the job. This is a recipe for a less than 1.5 GAG. If the first rounders come to play tonight we win, if not we lose.

Hey guys, I see you are all as confident about this game as we are. I know Montreal has had a poor start, but I can promise you this Ducks lineup is the worst group you have faced this season. Getzlaf, Kesler, Eaves, Kase, Lindholm, Vatanen, and Miller are all out, leaving us with 3 #6/7 in the lineup in addition to 2 4th lines (1 of them should not even be considered an NHL 4th line). Our only prayer is John Gibson stealing the game, because he is our only player that has shown up to each game.
Perry had 1 good game, but he's been a passenger since. Silfverberg had an injury in the preseason and has been invisible this year (1 assist in 6 games). Rakell tries to do everything himself. Ritchie has been injured for half our games and can't do anything when he's playing. We are icing Beauchemin, Bieksa, and Holzer as half of our defensemen.
I can't guarantee a Montreal win, but I can guarantee this Ducks team will be a huge bore to watch. Enjoy.

EDIT: Apparently Kase is in

Here's a friendly reminder.

Cammalleri was healthy scratched and had no points before playing the Habs. Last game? 2 goals, 2 assists
Couture, Pavelski and Thornton had only one point each before playing the Habs. Last habs game? Couture: 2 goals, 2 assists; Thornton and Pavelski: one goal, one assist

don't worry, we'll make your players look good

I predict a Habs win tonight. But if they lose to this depleted Ducks squad then a big shake up is needed. Max for Duchene.

And it doesn't help that in 2 years we lost our best dmen producers Markov and Subban.

Wow, never seen such lack of traffic in a GDT.
Friday night late games usually attract less traffic. It's Saturday morning for me so would be perfect, but I scheduled a meeting at 10h30 like an idiot...Totally forgot about the game.

...our schedule is weird this year. Another 3 in 4 nights and then a 3 day break. It's a little odd.

I'll say Ducks win 2-1 in ot. Before the road trip, I predicted the Habs would pick up one point in the three games, while scoring just four total goals. Chucky scores the lone goal, then barely sees the ice in ot.

I haven't watched a game all season. I bet if I watch they'll win.

I'm watching more than enough games for 3 fans, all of the Habs games. Seen Matt Barzal(NYI's rookie Center) score his first NHL goal against the NYR's last night, what a beautiful goal, crazy good young player, IMHO!!!...

Go Habs Go!!!...:thumbu::thumbu::thumbu:
