I can break down Weegar tooWe can have all the excuses possible. And +/- is an imperfect stat. However Weegar was +18, Hanley was +12, Andersson -38. Next worst were Kadri and Huberdeau with -17, -13.
Agreed Wolf overperformed but that does not explain why Andersson was so much worse than everybody else. I found him quite slow this year (and I have found him a very solid top 4 Dman over the past years) and I really think several GMs will be a bit scared trading for him After last season. That being said it may be a one off for sure.
1 goal against on the PP, 1 goal against at 3v3, 9 goals against with empty net. That's only -11. Weegar also played 60 less minutes vs elite competition than Andersson. This was mostly due to Weegar being partnered with a 6/7 all season long, whereas Andersson and Bahl took the bulk of the difficult minutes.
Andersson has never been a fast skater, but he was also playing the last 14 games on a broken fibula. He made the 4 nations team (and the only game Sweden won was the game he played), and he is also captaining team Sweden right now at the IIHF. With Andersson only making 4.55M I would be very shocked if teams are scared to add him. He's a warrior and a team leader, GM's love that.
