Value of: Montreal 2 1st rounder for a top 10 pick 2025

I don't think Montreal would have to offer that much to move up. I think they could probably move up to #11 with the Penguins by offering #16 and #41.
Yup, I think that's a more realistic option if Montreal wanted to move up and Pittsburgh was open to move down

I get it's not a great draft but I would do this in a heart beat.

More likely some of the top guys drop to 11 than to 16.

That's generally about what it costs to move up. Last year, San Jose traded #14 and #42 to move up to #11. So maybe throw in a 3rd there but that's generally what it costs to move in that area.

Prommer has 3 groups covering up to 9
next group is 10-18
next group is 19-mid 30s

Some teams dtarting rebuilds likr pittsburghmight do a tradr down of their 1st+ snother pick for 16 and 17. This assumes their picks in 26 and 27 are top 10.

Another thought....

Say the Rangers trade down does that make their pick something they can give upas part of the trade they made for Miller that pittsburgh now owns? The pick i think was top 13 protectef...thud it can revert to a 26 pick.

If they trade down to 20 and get a 2nd then they could give that pick up.
Doesn't address the drop off question. What I've read indicates a sizeable drop even after the top 3 to 4. I don't see someone taking 16 and 17 for #10. I don't see a team "starting a rebuild" trading down either - unless they equate picks 10-20 as equals.

Prommer had the players 10-18 in one gtoup

San jose traded down in a priir draft to get a bunch of picjd to start their rebuild procesd

Depends on how each team sees the drops in waives. It might be close ( a few pick spread) but it's not going to be exactly the same perception from all teams.

These things are circumstantial and us fans just don't have the information we think we do.

And that info varies from team to team. I just don't see a scenario where this plays out and I don't see a player taken anywhere outside the top 4 cracking a lineup this year.

Reactions: Habs Halifax
I’m open to moving the picks to get a number two center, combining picks to move up in the draft or staying put. There looks to be pros and cons to all of the options I guess. If the Habs do decide to keep the picks and look for bigger players I would be very happy to walk away from the first round with a Aitcheson, Spence or Bear.

I don’t think they gonna keep both. They will use one in a deal to make their second line better.

16 and 17 should almost be more than enough to get that 2C that look for or at least it's the foundation if they target a Horvat type

No reason to trade it for a pick around 8, like, at all
