I'm happy to disagree here.I don't want guys sitting out important games they are healthy enough to play in, I think it's crazy to expect anyone to sit out games they are healthy enough to play, particularly if it's a final for the tournament.
He played 6 mins and couldn't finish the game, and won't play tonight. I'm sure if he thought he could play and help the team win, he would have, I honestly can't believe anybody that watched that game would think a player that could finish the game was pulling themselves out just in case.
Idk about you, but I've watched enough hockey to know even great teams aren't guaranteed wins, even Winnipeg. Sure it's going to be a tough game, but if you're writing off games before they're played, why even watch?
if he didn't play against Canada I'd be far more concerned because it would likely mean the injury is really serious. These guys are ultra competitive, and despite the tournament being meaningless to you, it clearly wasn't to the players involved in it, so I want nothing to do with players that would hold themselves out of games they see as meaningful and important to them.
But I do want to clarify though - the tournament wasn't meaningless to me. I was pumped watching that final game. But it sure doesn't mean as much as watching Sens playoff hockey.
