You’re right they haven’t had many picks. Unfortunately what they’ve done with the picks they haven’t drafted has been an even bigger issue than the drafting.

Four 1st round picks and four 2nd round picks traded in the last 7 drafts and only Hampus Lindholm on the current roster to show for it.

Disgusting.
(1) 2022 1st, (2) 2023 2nd, and (3) 2024 2nd as part of the Hampus Lindholm trade. At the time It made sense, and it still does.

Which leaves:
(4) 2024 1st for Bertuzzi nobody faulted the trade at the time since the bruins were pushing all in
(5) 2023 1st and (6) 2025 2nd for Orlov and Hathaway, same as Bertuzzi, pushing all in.
(7) 2021 2nd for Taylor Hall seemed like a steal at the time
(8) 2020 1st for Ondrej Kase -- to me this is only truly bad one in hindsight, even with clearing Backes salary.

Yet almost nothing to show for it in 2024-2025.

Extremely poor management of assets.

What are you talking about?
It's an analogy for terrible coaching and not doing the job he was paid to do

He was paid to run a good training camp, pre-season, and have the team ready for the regular season (but he shit the bed)

He was paid to have the team prepared for each game of the regular season, and make good decisions and develop good strategies with line combinations for 5 on 5, PP and PK ( but shit the bed again)

His post game comments were supposed to shed some light on what was wrong with the team, and how to show improvement going forward, but he had NO answers (shit the bed once again)

IMO he was doing everything he could to get fired, so he could go back home to St Louis with a brand new 5 yr deal

As a few posters have already said, "the team didn't quit on the coach ...the coach quit on the team" ...or shit the bed

I realize that.

Did you really miss the point or are you just toying with me?

I was messing a bit. Seriously, though, I didn't mention those three guys because I don't have 2015 draft derangement syndrome, and I do think that a player like Barzal may not have done well in the Boston organization because he is not the archetypal 200 foot player. There may have been some players that could have thrived here had they been taken. We'll never know, but at the end of the day, whatever reasons go into the mix and whatever weight you assign, the Bruins prospect cupboard is not great and some of that is down to drafting.
