Monitor keeps fading to black

Every time I am in a game and alt tab out to change podcasts my monitor always fades to black. Then when I turn it off and turn it back on I can see the screen but it's very dim, then it turns really black. What's wrong with my monitor?

it's annoying as hell dude. i go into a game, then i alt tab to type in discord or change the podcast and the screen fades to black immediately. Dims and you can barely see anything. How am I supposed to play a game when I can't see ****? I have to constantly turn my monitor on and off and replug the hdmi cable trying to get picture back.

Try a different monitor to see if the problem follows.

Swap video output from graphics card to integrated graphics to see if your graphics card is the problem.

lol. you probably have bad capacitors in there somewhere. just order a new monitor. there's tons of cheap hardware out there these days.

oof. have fun with 27" at 1080p. I know refresh rates are dope, but for the other chunk of time you're not playing games, save yourself.
