Going back a bit but Bates Battaglia cept he didn't have the same skill as Jarvis
I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 8 years old, and my favorite player on the Canes at the time for whatever reason was Bates Battaglia. Something about a role player stepping up and playing a pivotal part on a scoring line with Rod and a rookie Erik Cole during that run to the finals really must’ve done something for an elementary school aged version of myself. Perhaps it was just that alliteration of his name how well Bates Battaglia rolled off the tongue.

I will never forget that moment late in 2002 when I woke up at 5.30 to participate in my school morning routine of watching Captain Planet and Zoids on Cartoon Network before reading the sports section of the paper while eating my two bowls of Rice Krispies. Seeing the headline that Battaglia was traded for Vrbata sunk my heart and that morning I cried on the bus ride to school.

The Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League Defeat the Dallas Stars, Six Goals to Four.

I don't believe you. First of all, Carolina and Dallas are warm weather areas. How do they even have ice there? Second, there's no way two teams with no ice would combine for 10 goals.

What world is this..

And to think, the "genuis" known as @HisIceness wanted Necas shipped to Montreal for the Demidov pick. Again, so very glad no one listens to him for he would most definitely turn this team into the NHLs version of the Carolina Panthers.

He had slowed down a bit the past week and a half or so but apparently so did all the other top scorers. Would love to see a Carolina Art Ross win, but I’m skeptical at best as much of a fan of Necas as I am.
I’ve just been dying to see a Cane break 100 for almost a year now. Honestly have just been holding out hope one of our main four forwards would just crack 90, figured Aho would hit that figure at some point.
