ehh...Ryback was never in a position where he was pushed with the intentions of being anything other than to be fed to someone.

He was fast tracked to face Punk and Cena and when he was shown not to be ready for it, he was exposed and lost his shine. Poor management of assets, but it wasn't for a lack of interest in his future by the front office.
