I was at that game. It was incredible. It was in Buffalo but it was mostly leaf fans. And the team was stacked and you could feel the atmosphere like we all thought it was a cup contender for sure

I was definitely thinking he was never going to get in. So very surprised.

Still on the fence about whether he truly warrants it, even with the NHL's open-door policy on HHOF inductees but man was he a treat to watch.

I remember when all the former Soviets started coming over.

The hype on some of these guys was massive. To their credit they lived up to it. Bure, Federov. Mogilny, Hasek, and Jagr all dominated the NHL.

I always liked Mogilny.

He wasn't my favourite player on the team when he was here. But he was still a quality player who performed well with Sundin. Seemed like he was here an awful lot longer than three years.

Even though he was a real oddball Mogilny never had the fan base turn against him.

Because he was smart enough not to talk to media. The anti-thesis of Marner, Mogilny knew how to keep his mouth shut. I Imagine he would have learned that skill at a yound age growing up in the USSR.

When you have to worry about getting shot for saying the wrong thing to a journalist you tend to take care to think about what you say more.

I was in Buffalo for this - holy hell, the roar at the end of the third was spectacular for an away barn.

Almo was a trail blazer who paved the way for so many. He should have been in the hall a very, very long time ago.
