The fact they let Vlasic still play is pretty hilarious, considering the organization has had bad breakups (obviously not permanent though) with even someone like Joe Thornton at the end of his playing career (all is good there now) and they turfed their very well-liked athletic trainer of almost 30 years.

Vlasic should be in never never land with Logan Couture.

His decline started the season before he got that deal and 2 years before that deal kicked in.

That deal looked bad before it even started.

That was like, I hate to compare it to Jay Pandolfo, as Vlasic was ONCE (very long ago) much better at his position than Jay Pandolfo ever was at his. Which is why Vlasic's contract like that was for $7 million and Pandolfo's was for $2.5 or something, as well as about 10 years earlier.

But like Pandolfo, both were bad even before those gold watch contracts kicked in.
