Wouldn't that be an advantage for the Devils, who could attack recklessly knowing the whistle would be blown the moment the Sharks start attacking?
Yes but that’s how it’s called to stop the defending team from knocking the net off to stop the play.

SJ shouldn’t get an advantage from knocking the Devils net off.

Did Lindy sneak behind the bench? It’s breakdown after breakdown.

Just frustrating how they keep killing their own offensive chances.

You think they might get a good look and then they pass up an open shot, or lose the puck carelessly, etc.

Cotter just drove the net and came around for a shot… and promptly had the puck roll off his stick.

No just not quite so deep. High slot as opposed to middle slot. Dougie has good enough skil he doesn’t need to take chances. His shit and passing work from the perimeter on thr PP
it's not something he does too often but I am never going to criticize a guy for stepping up into a wide open shooting lane on the PP.

I want this whole 3rd line to be investigated by the FBI
I totally think Haula is done here after this year and I think Mercer COULD be, but he probably won't be. I'm open to it, but he's actually scoring once in a while unlike the other guys.

Cotter probably should be, but he's fine with what he's being paid.

Let me tell ya, if he were an RFA after this year? I wouldn't qualify him if he were due a raise.

Second half of the season results pending, but it feels like he blew his load here and peaked very early.

They all have the yips right now. It’s pretty much a team-wide funk at the moment. They’ll get out of it but man is it hard to watch.

Since when are tripping calls reviewed / discussed in a group by officials ? It’s only high sticking or major penalties and puck over glass ( deflected or not ) isn’t it ?

refs have been hilarious tonight

also, what is it with all these pinches? Reminds me of rudderless Lindy Ruff hockey. We've given up more odd-man rushes tonight than the last month combined.

Nobody told me there'd be days like these...

They are pressing to cheat on offense because it’s going poorly. The only goal was off a skate not even a real deflection

The Devils are obviously gripping their sticks and playing tight. They need some good results and bounces to loosen up.

So the refs reversing one obvious correct call and reversing a second marginal call that’s never reversed is only going to tighten the guys up mentally even more.
