What do you have against Warroad?
They go through cycles of being AA caliber in talent quality, beat AA powers in those cycles, but unlike Roseau, don't want to play up to where the real competition is.

If they didn't so regularly do so, I'd understand. Their quality is often deeper than many AA team's quantity. I know for sure they'd have blocked quite a few Duluth East teams from the tournament the past decade+.

Burnsville and apple valley are co-opting . Another program bites the dust . More heads in the sand Apple Valley, Burnsville join forces on the ice

Six-school co-op will keep Burnsville girls hockey on the ice

I don't know if I agree with that. They've been to the tourney 3 of the last 4, but before that it'd been a decade since they had even been in the state tournament. Since they won it in 05 they have been to the finals twice.

The cycles to me are what make them a single A team. This isn't Hermantown where every year they have AA level teams and decide not to go. Most years the eventual A winner is one of those teams that is at the peak of there Cycle and could compete in AA unless we are talking about Hermantown.

All teams go through cycles. It's the quality of the highs that define them.

And I think equally the frequency of those highs. I just don't see the argument that a team that hasn't won the tourney in 18 years, and only been in it like 7 times in that stretch needs be in AA.

If this current streak continues and they go on a Hermantown like run I'm on your side. I just don't think they are there nearly consistently enough to be pushed to AA.

You'll never convince me of that. Teams that can compete via quality of players vs quantity of pool should compete.

So many TERRIBLE AA schools that are only AA because of high enrollment, left not having a chance to compete because they get zero quality.

Teams that get that quality, playing down only further waters things down and ensures less variety in the AA tournament as well as defeating the entire purpose of the A tournament. Giving schools a chance that don't get one at AA.

I'm sure I'm not changing your opinion here either though, so we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Ultimately, I still miss this being single class.

I agree in theory. Just not sure on Warroad. Or would you move Hermantown, EGF, Warroad, Ect...? Those 3 in particular I seem to remember talking about AA quality teams at some point in the last decade. Atleast EGF and Hermantown.

If a team puts AA powers on their schedule and proves they compete on that level, they should not be able to playdown come tournament time.

Warroad demolished the good AA schools on their schedule this year.
