This game is closer than the scoreboard shows, but that goal had to really deflate the Cougars at the end of the 2nd period.

Looked good there for a while after the goal, but then Mahtomedi gets a rebound score to pt it to 4-1. Tough hill to climb now with only 4 minutes left. I don't see Mankato coming back after that one.

Mahtomedi has a real good defense. We'll see how effective it is vs Warroad on Friday.

Hermantown went through section playoffs, outscoring their opponents 30-0. Now they'll steamroll the State tourney as well.

Scoreless 2nd, then Hermantown scored 1 in the 3rd for an easy cruise to a 5-1 finish.

Alexandria on the board, Mpls goaltender made the save, but lost the puck, didn't know where it was, the cardinals pushed it through in the scramble

Minneapolis looks like the better team thus far, but Alexandria is getting some chances too and still lead 1-0

Minneapolis tires it up, won a board battle down low, took the puck behind the net and feathered a pass through traffic right into the slot, easy goal as the goaltender was late to react

Mpls going on the PP, puck carrier tried squeezing by the defender, but was tripped up, started going down then was trainwrecked in the head by another defender.

Looked pretty brutal.
