OT: MN High School Hockey Thread

I'll be surprised if DE wins tomorrow. Lakeville North seems like the team of destiny this year.

Hopefully it's a good game!

St. Cloud should be pretty good with those Poehling brothers next year. Tried to see if they were in the draft rankings. Not in the top 200. Youngest one Ryan could be in the future since he has size.

Yeah, I don't know if they'll be NHL caliber or not, but I think they'll be very good college players.

I was at the first meeting between North and East... North won 2-1. Game was actually fairly well played but North was the better team. Have to take North in this one, 5-1.

Also, 2/3 Poehling's will be there next year. One is a sophomore.

They'll probably have to play a year of juniors next year but if they don't they're not good enough to turn a team around as freshmen.

None of them will be here next year. Jack and Nick will play for Green Bay for at least one, probably two seasons before coming. Ryan will be the interesting one if he decides to leave Lakeville. Could set up that all 3 come as Freshmen together.

Is the high school state tournament getting weaker?

Seems like a lot of the best high school players leave their high schools in advance to go to juniors. I think Lou Nanne talked about that in recent times.

Yeah, I don't think it's any secret that the best players are not playing for their high school teams.

Doesn't diminish my enjoyment of the tourney, though.

If East pulls this off, it will be the greatest run to the championship ever :biglaugh: they've beat some massively good teams.

How does ticketing work for this tournament? Is the whole arena general admission?
How much is a ticket?
