Why is the kickoff match of the 30th anniversary season LAFC vs Minnesota? Why wouldn't you make it San Jose vs DC (first ever match) or even a rematch of MLS Cup (NYRB vs LAG)? Why is it a random match between relatively new teams?

not sure why LAG started micovic over mccarthy.. he basically handed SD the match with an awful pass to the defender

don't have high hopes for the galaxy this season between the injuries to key players and the roster turnaround. these guys have no chemistry

I’m surprised San Diego didn’t bring Brandon Vazquez back to the league.

You’re probably right about this season, but last season was pretty incredible considering the season prior.

Puig out until at least late summer, Paintsil out for several weeks and Ramirez is a downgrade from Joveljic. Pec will be fine, but creating offense outside of him will be tough sledding for a while once the team gels with Ramirez.

I don't mind starting Micovic and he looks more confident playing the ball with his feet than McCarthy. Problem is when you're confident with your feet is that you're more likely to try riskier passes which that pass to Garces was. Keepers who know they aren't good with their feet never have problems just getting rid of it when the situation demands it. I suspect Vanney was hoping that Micovic could finally cement himself as the starter, but this outing shows he's still not there yet.

the offense today was basically pec vs the SD defense. ramirez played like he was running through mud and reus just isn't it, at least not as a starter

best case scenario is that they build chemistry and tread water until puig comes back to make a run at the playoffs, but who knows if he'll even be at 100%
