So where does McNeil go with Baez in the lineup(with Lindor healthy)?

Does he become a platoon player?
I imagine they'll have a 2B/3B/LF platoon with McNeil, Davis, and Smith. Baez would be at 2B or potentially 3B. If he's at 3B McNeil is at 2B and Davis or Smith is LF. If he's at 2B McNeil or Davis is at 3B. Who knows. They have options I guess.

I still can’t believe Steve Cohen owns the Mets. What a day. Crazy ass trade deadline for baseball.

Last years 1st round pick for a rental. This years 1st round pick may not sign because he has a bad elbow. The whole draft this year was centered around getting Rocker signed. Everyone else was under slot. Would have rather had Bryant than Baez.

I think there is a higher chance Baez stays with the Mets long term. Whether that is the right move or not is another question

Edit: in regards to crow-armstrong, the kid was a t least 5 years away and just had season ending surgery earlier this season. Was worth it for Baez

Baez is leading MLB in strikeouts this year. His OPS+ last year was 60. Bad deal if he walks and bad deal if he stays and signs a big contract for his declining years. Not happy with this. I would love to be wrong though.

Well let’s see what he does the rest of the year. I tend to agree that he has regressed a bit but who knows

deGrom setback.

haha yeah
I think it was a bit negligent to not get someone other than Rich Hill, for exactly this reason. When Carrasco has a testicle explosion or anal prolapse or some horrible thing (both at the same time?), it will be even worse.

What's up with Syndergaard? Is he still alive?

The reason Cubs were sellers is because of guys like Baez and Rizzo. This year both are shells of players they were. Obviously I'd be happy to be wrong and they both kill it for their new teams.

Should've gone after Maeda.

I mean, if they weren't going to go for it and get a legit SP, I don't know why they traded for Baez. Feels like they went halfway.

Getting Baez makes sense. You are banking on change of scenery as a catalyst for his bounce back. Ignoring pitching was a mistake.

I’m an Angels fan and I promise you I’m not just here to troll when I say Heaney is going to frustrate the hell out of you guys. He has a very bad tendency to just completely unravel any time he faces any sort of adversity on the mound, he showed us so many flashes over the years that made us think he could be a TOR starter, but he’s nowhere close. Great guy off the field but I’m not sad he’s off the team
