OT: MLB Thread XLV

The thing with bubbles is that the NHL, NBA, and MLS is that they basically just cover the playoffs. If the NFL did it, it would be for like five months. I'm not sure if the bubble model is sustainable for that long. Maybe it is, I guess it would depend on the structure of the bubble itself.

Agreed, the NHL is going to send 8 teams home in a week, and another 8 in less than three weeks. I think players have a right not to be away from their families for at least five months in regards to the NFL.

yeah that is a good point. That’s so long you’d have regions shifting from bad to good, good to bad over that time. I mean look at the northeast vs south from March to July. Can’t even nail down a safe area for 5 months.

Yea, guessing it's more of a scare tactic to clean it up, not just away from the stadium, but the spitting, high fiving etc...
 
So does Mattingly do anything or are the Marlins' players in charge? I know that franchise doesn't care about winning so not following protocols and getting sick doesn't really surprise me.

No I haven't seen anything. I just read that yesterday he was doing defensive drills and either today or tomorrow he would be throwing to hitters. Right after it happened he posted something on Twitter that basically said he was fine throwing the ball, it just hurt to run, which made him a liability. He seemed to indicate it was minor, in his opinion.

Unbelievable how terrible the bullpen is. I trust Lugo and Wilson and that's probably it. Maybe Betances but he's still throwing soft.
 
ESPN is reporting that MLB told the networks to prepare alternative programing to fill their schedules should baseball cancel the rest of the season.

The Mets should petition MLB to make all games 7 innings not just those doubleheaders. The Mets' bullpen has pulled a #ChaykaOut and quit on them mid-season.
 
Nothing has changed. 10 runs all year not on homers.

Guess you just hope they pitch well and finally get hot this October.
