Had lost 7 in a row yet somehow still among the top teams in the standings. Seems all the good teams have had one tailspin stretch. The division lead evaporated though.

Mets have sent Francisco Alvarez to AAA Syracuse. His defense like the throw to 2nd when he should have thrown to 3rd, his poor pitch framing and his lack of good wild pitch blocking combined with his lousy batting (despite hr last night) has finally caught up with him. I have to agree with this move. Torrens will be primary catcher now. On a positive note Juan Soto hit 2 home runs last night and his batting has improved a lot. And wow the mets had 7 home runs last night, one for every game in their 7 game losing streak they broke out of.
