OT: MLB Thread 2025

The Yankees ended up with a weird ruling earlier in the year against Oakland Sacramento? The Athletics.

There has to be a better way to legislate traps.

Hill sucks..soft tossing pitchers don't have long shelf life's.Get rid of him and bring in a lefty with velocity

Good job using your back of the BP relievers in a close game...and Wells is atrocious behind the plate.he should be a full time dh

Dodgers just outplay us in every way possible. Same shit as the world series. Need to get healthy to balance out this lineup, 6-9 is not good enough.

Full respect to Boone for not giving yourself any chance to come back, while also just leaving Warren in to be embarrassed.

Dodgers are doing this with a depleted pitching staff too.Once they get healthy, nobody is beating them

What an absolute beating. This Dodgers team f***ing abuses us and they don't let up either. Kill or be killed mentality.

Yanks should take notes from the Mets on the Dodgers. fastball heavy approaches do NOT work against them. Yarbrough comes in and almost the whole lineup looks like they've never batted at MLB before. The Dodgers also couldn't hit Williams or Hill who also throw pitches they have a hard time with.

Fried has been awesome but the Yankees basically took away all of his offspeed/breaking stuff and instead he now has an S tier fastball with limited putaway options. That's not going to work against this team. His curve and changeup need to be more prominent if we see this team again.

Warren was just unfortunate. His breaking stuff is absolutely unhittable but it requires his sinker to be working or they'll just sit on offspeed forever and take their walks. Top of the Dodgers order rocked his sinker and he basically never used it again leading him to walk a bunch of guys and that was that.

It's whatever. Bad series. Just learn from it.

I was going to say they should send down Vientos rather than Acuna, because at least Acuna can run the bases and play defense while sucking offensively. But then I discovered Vientos hurt himself and now I feel bad, LOL. Damn West Coast games.

Last night's mets game was awesome to watch. Now they've beat the Dodgers 3 out of the 4 times they met this year. They got out of some jams last night, quite a few walks though. Overall they played solid and it helps that Juan Soto has started breaking out of his funk. I'm staying up tonight to watch them again. LGM!

Couldn't stay up. New job and have to be in office the next 3 days ugh

I would love a world where teams like the Pirates and Angels of old get some sort of punishment for sitting on super elite young talents instead of a fat revenue sharing check - but I don't think this bubbling narrative of "the Pirates should just trade Skenes if they're going to waste him!" is very helpful. It's not that I want to see young marketable superstars waste away in garbage organizations but I don't think the alternative of "send them off to already elite teams and keep this shitrag group in a perpetual rebuild" is particularly good either.

Weaver out 4-6 weeks. Jazz and Cruz back tonight

Schlittler to AAA
Lagrange to AA
Lagrange going from longshot to top 100 prospect is gonna hit like crack

Pirates have one of the richest owners in MLB. They absolutely can afford to put a competitive team on the field but don't because he wants that fat revenue check. It's owners like him who demand a salary cap and refuse a salary floor, causing a strike/lockout.

That was the greatest bases loaded escape I've ever seen. That Baty play makes up for the catastrophic play in the LA series
