Good example to set for the younger players on the teamHe has 750 million reasons to not be too upset.![]()
He has been snakebit a little. Seems every other hard hit ball goes directly to a well positioned fielder. But look, you make the most money in league history, so it's a tough look being mid, and not being clutch at all so far, any way you slice it. At the end of April, everyone was saying he'll get hot. It's now approaching end of May. Maybe it's just Queens.View attachment 1038905
Nope. This isn't even him pressing because of a massive contract, this is him having a BABIP 40 points under his career average. He may have a "down" year because sometimes you can do shit right and it just goes that way anyway, but he's still been very much elite AF under the hood. Nothing at all to worry about.
Not running to 1st on a ball that he could have beaten out is a tough look though.
Didn't Lindor have a terrible year his first year as a Met?He has been snakebit a little. Seems every other hard hit ball goes directly to a well positioned fielder. I think he will probably put up legit numbers but maybe not as good as last season with the Yankees and probably not $765 million good.He has been snakebit a little. Like @GoAwayPanarin and @Raspewtin, I think he'll wind up with a down 1st year.I think he will probably put up legit numbers but maybe not as good as last season with the Yankees and probably not $765 million good.
I was very happy in this series with the guys (Fried, Belly, Goldy) the Yanks signed this offseason.
Quite possible I think Soto probably helped both the Mets and Yankees in switching teams. He is a very good player but that is a huge contract. Only time will tell. What is kind of crazy is the Yanks are without Soto and without our CY Young winner but still playing very respectable ball so far.Like @GoAwayPanarin and @Raspewtin, I think he'll wind up with a down 1st year.
