Thanks, everyone knows the whole Ohtani deferred contract but are they signing everyone to friendly deals or just paying an insane luxury tax?

I haven't looked but I think they're still below the Mets and possibly the Yankees and others.

With Sasaki MLB rules treat him like any other international amateur signing (like the kids signed out of the Dominican or wherever) so he's only eligible to sign a deal up to like $8M or something. That's one of the things that's so appealing about him, his contract has to be really cheap by rule c

Ahh gotcha okay that makes sense. The west coast has always been the preferred spot for this guys. Makes me appreciate Matsui for coming to NY
