MLB The Show 17

That is something you need to find out for yourself as prices are always fluctuating. Keep an eye on cards that are in your price range and that sell a lot and figure out what is the lowest you can buy it at.

As far as stealing goes, check your settings just in case its a different set up then what ur trying. When you confirm the settings you need to use the left stick towards the runner that you want to steal with, leave it in that direction, then press L2.

For playing the market, the easiest thing to do is find cards with a big gap between the buy now price and the sell now price. Create a buy order just slightly higher than the current highest price. When it gets sold to you(and it almost always will), then sell it for a profit. Keep in mind the game keeps 10% of your sell price.

Thanks.

I only have just over 20,000 stubs (because I don't play that much, and I am not spending real money on them). Is that enough to buy something really good and make a big profit? Or should I play more? This is my first year of The Show in about five years or so, so this is still all new to me.

That's plenty enough to start out. You can buy certain things for 3-9k and flip them for about 1k profit if you find the right item

I basically gave up on trying to flip anything. If I invest in something can guarantee it'll plummet faster than Enron within 15 minutes flat.

I just sell doubles and mission rewards never hurting for stubs.

I'm addicted to flipping. Its pretty easy once you get the hang of it. I can make about 5k a day minimum while at work. Buy something that has about a 2k difference and go from there

If you have the coins buy the Jumbo AllStar Packs. Bought the 5 max and I pulled 3 diamond players (90 AS Adam Jones, 94 AS Carlos Ruiz and 90 Dellin Betances) Also pulled Gold AS John Lackey and 86 AS Jason Castro.

Conversely use the stubs on straight up buying AS cards. Those packs dropped the market HARD on AS players this afternoon.

I looked at price of packs, took 21k straight to the market cost of e packs and was like nah on the pack odds as I just bought diamond Vida Blue, diamond Jered Weaver, diamond Catfish Hunter, Gold Lackey, Cabrera, Bucholz, Kendrick, Jim Johnson for under 20k.

Best cleanup I've had people were selling off their cards at liquidation prices. Pack luck would have never given me that.

Anybody watch youtubers/streamers? Doesn't seem to be very many although I do enjoy watching Movie Gaming TV and Gyvi World. CB5 complains too much for my liking.

I am one of CarlDudes mods, but he has been in break for some time now and hasn't returned. I follow a few others (ClutchSilver for example) but haven't watched as much this year

I actually completed the Program for 99 Ryne Sandberg. It didn't take me nearly as long as I thought it would. The All Star hitting stats were pretty much a breeze as I just loaded my lineup with All Star series players and just played normally. The hardest mission was getting 3 hits, a double, a run scored, and an RBI with rookie Sandberg in the same game. I got the double, run scored, and RBI in the first inning, third inning I get another hit so I think I'm going to cruise and then I proceed to get out three straight AB's(including one where I hit a rope into the gap and the centerfielder went full on Superman and robbed what I thought certain was a double). I get one more chance in the bottom of the 8th and ground out. I tried my hardest to get on base with as many guys in a row as I could in an attempt to get Sandberg back up, but it didn't work. I ended up having to stretch the game to 11 innings. In the top of the 9th I struck out the first two guys and then intentionally walked in 17 straight runs as I was up 17-0 when the inning began(rookie for the challenge  ) I got the next guy to pop up on the infield. The next couple of innings I had to bunt with all of my players because I didn't want to accidentally hit a walk-off homer  Then in the 11th I hit a bullet into the gap and that was that. Felt really good to complete the program. Got 5 program packs and the first four were trash, the last one had LS Blackmon AND LS Stanton. Pretty awesome.

I will definitely be trying to get that AS Jim Edmonds tomorrow. 25 hits isn't too bad. I'll probably just put it on rookie against the Phillies or something and get it in a game or two.

Next up is finishing the Hernandez Program. I need like 45 innings pitched to complete the stats. Then I need to collect Live Series Felix and beat the Mariners on All Star.

I'm so glad these last few programs haven't required you to play ranked seasons/events/BR. It's so rare that I get a good connection in an online mode that I have all but stopped playing them. I'm glad I have the opportunity to complete them and get some of these awesome players. Really want that Hanley Ramirez, but 210 shortstop assists and 27 walks are going to take forever.

Ya I like the fact that you can get these awesome players for basically nothing. When you get a chance, try and finish that Hanley program. He absolutely crushes the ball. What I did was have my entire infield as a SS player including my catcher. Then I would just throw sinkers all game. Took a while but having a SS at catcher def helped a lot. A lot of the strike outs he would drop then I would just pick it up and throw to first, boom thats an assist haha. I still need 2 more BO Pitcher wins to finish the Drebek Program and am a long way from finishing the Sandberg and Felix program. I need to finish those so I can finally unlock Vida Blue. Hoping to get the 99 Cal soon as well.

Yeah that's a great idea. I didn't know about the dropped third strike counting though  That's awesome. I did a similar thing with the 2B doubles for the Sandberg program. Everyone on my team was a 2B  Even had a lefthanded second baseman and I almost turned a double play with him, but he just took so damn long to get rid of it.

Going after Felix and then Oswalt(since I'm super close to him) and then finally Hanley. I really want him.

Can these programs you guys are talking about be done offline?

Didn't play a single online game and got Sandberg and Felix Hernandez done pretty easily. Almost done with Oswalt. Hanley is a little ways away, but I'll finish him eventually.

Still working on Sandberg, Griffey and Hernandez Programs. King Felix's will take a while, still need about 17 more 9 inning games from my starters to reach his inning pitched requirements. I am liking the introduction of the Breakout Blue Jays Shawn Green, loved him when he was on the Jays if only they would bring in a Carlos Delgado.

Interesting. I thought only the conquest missions were offline so I haven't touched DD in a while. Thanks guys!

They are but the aren't. Yes you play against the computer but you still need to have internet access and connected to their server to play it. Most of them will say in and DD mode, but a hand full will make you earn them in Ranked season or BR or an event.

Anybody plays Road to the Show (RTTS)? How do you steal properly with Showtime? I don't know how.

Activate it just before the pitcher throws. The safest way is to wait for his arm to move and then run, but you can usually watch for him to turn his head back to the catcher, and then look back at you, and as soon as he turns away again, run. If your guy is fast enough you can wait for the arm movement and never have an issue. And make sure you manually slide head first to the right side of the bag (up/right on the right stick)

Love this game so much but it can be so aggravating at the same time.

Finally get Paxton in on a vs CPU game for the Hernandez get 11k and a win with a Mariners pitcher. I end up with 17 only giving up 3 hits but all 3 solo HRs. While I get 16 hits and 3 runs as everything grounds out or can't drive home runners. Paxton gassed take him out because this could go on forever. 1k with Medlen then bottom 9 walk it off. Win to Medlen.../

Not sure I'm more mad at myself for taking Paxton out or the fact I can't hit with RISP ever.
