OT: MLB Discussion Thread Part XXVI: Batteries Reporting

A right-handed first baseman is f***ing weird.

he was a late bloomer, started putting it together when he was 25. Some bad timing, injuries and unlucky. He struggled his first go around with STL and never really got another valid shot after that.

And I agree, Stanton should have an MVP type season. He should have a better understanding of AL pitchers.

Really? You bring this up after a Hicks contract?

Not sure if you are aware but Sanchez, Judge and Sevy will all need new contracts at some point. I know Sevy got an extension but it's only one UFA year.

Ummm

Sevy already signed his extension....

So yes I will bring this up after Hicks as i did when Sevy signed to a steal AAV

I wouldn't call that an extension per say. We had control over him for 4/5 years.

I wouldn't call it a steal. Did rough numbers earlier in the thread. It's a good deal for both parties.
 
It’s a steal if he can stay healthy. But that’s a huge if. And he’s decent trade fodder in the later years of the contract.
