I'm optimistic Cano will turn it around. He had an excellent spring, when you can barely get guys of his stature to show up. He turned around Scherzer on Opening Day and has had a few other key hits. I think he's just adjusting to NL pitching and probably pressing to make an immediate impression on his new team. If he's still struggling in a couple months, I'll be genuinely concerned. Until then I'm okay watching him work through it.

Rosario with a right CF shot. That was a nice shot.

This team can hit. Jury still out on the pitching tho.

And don’t forget Lowry and Cespedes could both be in the lineup in the 2nd half. I’m surprised that teams aren’t pitching Alonso more up in the zone as he’s shown some difficulty getting to high pitches and crushes everything low

This is where I am.

If he still sucks in June, I'll get concerned.

this mets team is so different than past teams.

they are deep. they arent even healthy yet.

they can hit. they have power. they can use all fields.

defensively they look ok.

the pen has faltered some and the back half of the rotation needs work.

all in all, im very happy so far.

fingers and toes crossed

The pen is no small issue, especially with how Callaway is going to burn them out

Alonso has 6 homers in 15 ABs against relievers. Zero in 30 ABs vs Starters. Interesting.

His first time vs a Starter is weak, but 2nd time around against a starter he’s hitting well for average, not homers tho.

These injuries are happening because we never started playing regulars, well, regularly in Spring Training.

We essentially threw everyone into the regular season.
