Mitch Marner, Yet Again

Shots for
35 Tavares
42 for Nylander
62 for Matthews
21 for Marner

Tavares and Marner together
Xgf 2.07, Xga 2.46

Not a good sign when two 11 million dollar players are together.
You just used a sample size of 25 minutes. Which is the equivalent of less than 2 games. This is idiotic.
This season Marner and JT have GF 16 of GA 9.

The Science (TM) is not settled yet on sample sizes. We have to accept all sample sizes to understand the sizes but not forget that the size used even though small, is not an insignificant size in its own right.

I learned this on TV

I'm not surprised. I wonder what channel.

999 Channel on Rumble.

In all seriousness. Marner and Matthews are not great 5v5. They do not complement each others game at all. JT and Marner look way more compatible than anything else out there. Willy is a universal soldier out there now. What a score we got when we selected him, remember people said his ceiling was actually as good as 1st overall if he put it together.

You can’t be serious

How bout from now when you post your nonsense that you post the sample size in minutes.
.... if you don't believe my data prove me wrong. I'm not gonna write a book to please your majesty.

You said I presented a sample size of just 25 minutes. Which one was that?

Your data is always garbage because you don't list the sample size.
You replied to a post about March. They played 25 minutes together in March.
From now on post TOI or stop posting.

Lol... you clearly just don't read very well. Nobody else was a fool and misinterpreted the info. People don't need to dumb it down just to meet your specific needs.

LMAO. No one can understand your posts because you leave everything out. You posted monthly stats. So did I. Don't you see how you keep humiliating yourself by posting nonsense?
Didn't the Domi humiliation convince you that you're posting stupid things.

You ask for details details details, but all your posts are vague and provide no details at all. Yet you expect everyone to put 8 hrs into posts to satisfy you.

What Domi humiliation? Post the stats that are humiliating...all the stats, so everyone knows very clearly what your referring to.

From now on start posting detailed stats and no more vague posts or stop posting.

And when his teammates are checked there’s not much he’s willing to do. We question if he’s able to do it

I think that’s why he’ll actually go to FA and seek a better situation for himself.

I guess score points at an elite pace is "not much he is willing to do" in you mind?

Domi is having a rough year, eh?

I'm assuming Mitch wouldn't agree to this regardless, but humor me.

What would be the positives/negatives for the following scenario?

Resign Marner to a 1 year max cap hit contract with a limited NTC.

My thought process is that this year has a very weak UFA class. I don't want to bring it back if they can't get it done again, but it would hurt to lose him for nothing without much of an opportunity to do anything of impact on July 1.

Make a Rantanen type trade at the deadline or keep him as an own rental and have some better options in FA.

He gets a very big paycheck and is still young enough to get another long term deal right after. Would the PA frown on this?

What do you think would be "reasonable" in this context? Reason I ask is I have a hard time seeing a contender wanting him unless it's a big discount.

LOL... indeed a guy who is around 100 point player wouldn't be coveted by a contender... great analysis... ... quite possibly no one would want him and he might have to sign in Europe next year just to play pro hockey... :banghead:

Look man, you're dealing with a guy that has admitted that he doesn't watch the games so that's about the best "analysis" you're gonna get out of him. I just realized that the guy I'm dealing with also admitted to not watching the games. I'm starting to see a trend.

I believe max cap hit would be over 17M, hard to see this happening. Points for creativity though.

~100 point player until game 86, then turns into a ~45 point player. If you think that's something every contender would covet then perhaps you've been banging your head against walls too hard and too long.

It seems you still haven't learned how to read. Are you even trying?

Explain is this more humiliating for Domi than it is Marner?:
Last two seasons mins:
Domi 1778 mins
Marner 2066 mins

(Is 1800-2000 mins also too low a sample?)

Last two seasons per/60
 Domi:
Points per 60: 2.23
Primary Assists per 60: 1.15
Secondary Assists per 60: 0.54
Goals per 60: 0.54

Marner:
Points per 60: 2.53
Primary Assists per 60: 1.05
Secondary Assists per 60: 0.67
Goals per 60: 0.81

First line play around 1400 5v5 mins a year.

Domi (in 1400 mins):

  • 53 points
  • 27 primary assists
  • 13 secondary assists
  • 13 goals

Marner (in 1400 mins):

  • 60 points
  • 25 primary assists
  • 16 secondary assists
  • 19 goals
Wow Marner averages 7 more 5v5 points while playing with stars like Matthews, Tavares and a great goal scorer like Knies, and occasionally on stacked lines with Tavares, Matthews and Nylander while Domi plays with 3rd liners.

Also, when Domi did play with star Matthews he blows Marners numbers with Marner out of the water.
